Well after having issues all night with BF2142 totally locking up (as i did before with Vista) I managed to sort it eventually, so for anyone else suffering the same issue, this is what you need to do:
Under c:program filesbf2142, you will need to locate a hidden file called radial.cab, rename this and try the game again, it will create a fresh file and the game should work ok.
So far so good, so will have a rerun tomorrow. Shame as missed some good games tonight.
I found DEL*.* worked in the same way as above 🙂

Max when I said 2142 is wank and full of bugs, you said it’s bullshit and be fine since the patch… wasn’t fine then was it? Naab! EA FTL!! Burn them Burn!!
Sounds like that may be my problem – one of the reasons I haven’t played is that I manage to only get a few minutes of action before PC freezes. I’ll try it this evening – cheers Max.
