Obviously my system restricts my enjoyment to a point as I have dropped to 720 res. to make the game semi playable. Its far from smooth, looks a mess, but its huge improvement on the beta. I lose a lot of one on ones but at least i can play a bit.
The netcode is a joke, in fact its the worst I’ve experienced and going by posts elsewhere its not my side at fault.
I hate the counter knife it seems like a tacky add on and would love to see it removed.
Its buggy as hell even for BF. I no longer pick up the weapons that are scattered around as it crashed me out of a game the second i touched one. Random crashes. Character getting stuck etc etc.
There’s a really good game in there somewhere but I’m struggling to find it.
How are peeps finding it? Oh and don’t be shy with your tips and tricks and weapon choices 😀
Must say im really enjoying the game more so then BF3, its certainly not BF3.5.
I really havent got any real gripes with the game, neither do I have any issue with the netcode, seems ok to me? But I have been reading it seems to be an issue with some people.
Other then spend £700 on my rig to play all at Ultra, the only issue I do have is with the crashing (and some small bugs) but this will get fixed in due course.
Indeed im enjoying 4 a lot but these crashes are getting my nerves.
Quality squad playing going on when theres bunch of friends playing.
Hate it when planting c4 someone shoots an rpg to the vehicle and I only end up losing my C4’s no points no nothing. 😈
Mainly using carbines as they are OP 😀
Its a bit of a mess tbh. Servers crash occasionally, game crashes regularly and i get pretty terrible performance issues. To run it smoothly I’m having to run a mix of high and medium settings with no AA which just isn’t right.
😆 😆 Evening summary well to be honest I stopped counting after 10 crashes. Guess I had one round on zavod finished…crashes for the WIN!
Weird… I crashed once the night I got it.
Not once since then! Been really lucky I guess.
One wee tip i picked up off a forum that first night – I went into origin, options and unticked ‘sync with cloud’
No idea if it helped much – but I haven’t crashed since? N=1 though so… might be coincidence.
I am running in 1080, all high settings… looks really smooth. GTX 670

The game itself is awesome and preferable to BF3 in every way.
The game crashes, yes, but that will be fixed soonish. I can live with it.
I like the counter-knife. You get an automatic kill from behind and there’s no more automatic kills from rushing headlong at someone and spamming the knife and getting lucky. Think of it as a bonus if you DON’T get counter-knifed from the front. Sneak, stab, profit – just ask airmessy.
I’m finding the TTK good. I like it and i reckon there’s no need for HC any more tbh 😛 I’ve turned my network smoothing/discomobulationy prediction thingy down to 0% and I definitely get killed after rounding corners/ducking behind cover less than in BF3.
That being said, and I’m not sure if it’s the reduced bullet velocity for a lot of the weapons, but as you will have noticed you get a lot more kill trades (you kill a guy at the same time he kills you) which is slightly annoying.
I like the fact they’ve updated aspects of every part of the game and I like the fact that I like the choices they’ve made with pretty much everything – the vehicle ammo reload, the mobility hits, the more varied weapons/loadouts for each class, the fact that more of the maps have more routes/verticality compared to any battlefield game. Yes I like it, and no that has nothing to do with being an ex-EA employee 😛
Oh, performance-wise, I’m on a 770GTX, i7 4770k with everything on Ultra and I very very occasionaly drop below 60, averaging about 75fps, which on a 60hz monitor is fine.
Edit: I’ve always had sync to cloud turned off so…reckon that’s just the usual forum myth.
Edit 2: Unlock the SG553 carbine, equip it, love it. Does everything a carbine should, at every range. High fire rate, normal damage, very controllable – miles better than in BF3. Quite sad that the G36 seems so wank 🙁

Well todays play was a friggin nightmare. Not one full game before a crash until I updated .net. Might be coincidence but played 2 games and no crash (it was the BF not responding crash) so fingers crossed.
Game still feel very ‘clunky’ and the animations feel awful but I think i will have to accept that its my systm and I’m stuck with it. Its odd as I have dropped setting till I get good fps 70-100 but still not as smooth as bf3.
Had a bit TDM and the m416 is still my little baby 😀
losing my interest as i hardly ever finish a round that ive started. Guess ill have to wait for the patch and hope a freaking miracle. GPU should arrive monday or tuesday though. I guess ill go run around in 3…

I dont have issues but some of you might want to try this.
Some might also want to try planetside, while bf4 problems are sorted out. I’m having a blast in it atm and if you need a hand i’ll be in that channel on ts.
Fixed most of my performance problems and its been playing pretty smoothly apart from the random crashes.
Gameplay wise I’m liking it. I’ve really got to grips with the sniping mechanics and with so many useful tools the recon class is an absolute beast. They’ve pretty much buffed all of the 9mm pistols as well which is handy because it takes ages to unlock them! DMRs suck though which is a bit of a shame. SKS is kind of usable but there are better options now with the carbines. Does anybody use PDWs over carbines for the engineer? I cant see any reason you’d want to really. The ACW is the second carbine unlock you get and its a complete monster. They also didn’t nerf the burst on the AKU-12 like they did on the AK-12 so it still does 1000rpm 😈
