    Sad news indeed, by why would Viacom need that information? If it’s due to copyright information, then why would they need information of the people who accessed the site? It’s the site, not the visitors who have broken the rules.

    They want the account information of users. You don’t need an account to view youtube. They just want to nail people that are habitually putting up copyrighted material i.e football highlights, movie clips, music videos etc.

    but indeed a sad day.

    the judge did set some very strick limitation on what the information could be used for. i think he was playing a fast one and wants to know how the hell viacom intend to make meaning from teragigs of useless numbers.

    will be interesting to see what comes of this..

    users should just vote with their feet and download as many viacom bittorrents as they can find
