had some great games with Matt and John last night, especially when we decided three normal opponents were too easy and we’d ramp it up to three hard players. We lasted barely 5 minutes! Still, Matt and I managed to have one particular romp to victory on our last game! great times!

Patching is a pain in the arse though, before I can login I need this 114mb patch, already downloaded a 1.8gb without any issues but this keeps failing and I have to keep restarting the patch 👿
Still having that problem Max? What version number does the game show in the main menu at the moment?
Oh and Paddy, the more I think about those losses last night, the more I think it’s because we’re both going WSC at the start. I’m also questioning the wisdom of the WSC start on the more open maps since those are the ones we’re struggling on. With choke points, the snipers, HMGs, and Mortars own, but with fewer chokes I’m being flanked quite a bit, and find myself wishing for a bit more flexibility than the semi fixed HMGs and Mortars provide. I’m wondering how effective both of us starting with barracks would be vs the AI, but I guess the balanced Barracks + WSC approach is probably the standard multiplay tactic for 2v2’s so we should really concentrate on that. I think we should also have a closer look at the maps we lost last night, and replay them until we’ve figured the problem out, or until we’ve at least developed a strategy for them for when we switch to human opposition 🙂 What do you think?
Any of the more experienced COH players able to give us any tips btw?
I was thinking that re the practicing maps. I might try as british to get started on learning them if we are going to revisit the old maps, I’ll do some reading up. we got obliterated in those matches because you got nailed every time at your base and I seemed to have the easier run of things, also I don’t really know what I’m doing and my keyboard wasmn’t working! enough excuses, same tonight?
If you guys are playing this I’ll pick it up on payday. Must be quite cheap to boot by now> Anythign I need to buy especially? Are there multiple packs/add-ons etc?

You can get the Vanilla game for £6.99 on Steam atm, which might be the best option considering the pain in the arse it is to patch the game manually. You can also get the complete anthology there for £20, but can probably find it elsewhere online for cheaper. It really is a pain in the arse to patch this manually, so I’d consider any extra cost through a system like Steam to be worth it. You don’t need the expansions though, so you could just get the vanilla game for 7 quid and get any expansions later during offers, and assuming you like the game enough.
