does anyone rekon one of the pre-ordererers will post for everyone else to d/l if so where is most likley?
(and yeah.. i am going on about crysis alot.. im looking forward to it ok!!)
October 26, 2007 at 12:11 pm #61122LammieParticipantIs it being released through File Planet? If so I would have though you would have to enter a pre order reference number first before they let you get to the content.
Also is it the multiplayer or Single player demo? Single player apparently will have the map editor built into the content so would be fun to play around with that for a while.
I see what I can find out 😉

Played it and completed the Island Level included in the demo. Played ok on my machine with everthing turn off or low due to my system deperately needed an upgrade once I get the fund to do it.
Looks and plays great, AI is good too. Have spent much time on the map editor had a quick play around with it but as you said a lot going on.
October 30, 2007 at 3:47 pm #61128XDCMADMAXParticipantIts pretty intensive on the hardware but got lots of potential
November 1, 2007 at 9:19 am #61129sickofitallParticipantWell I played this last night and I think you lot are being a bit harsh saying it looks quite good. I mean I only had it on medium settings and I thought the game looked effing amazing. I’d seen the trailers and thought that this was going to be bollocks – mainly because of the stupid bloody super suit but it turned out that it was the best part of it since it meant you could approach the game how you wanted.
The only thing I could fault was the jeep physics but it’s been a long long time since I’ve been so impressed with a game demo.
Couldn’t find the editor though, although I didn’t look hard. Where is it?
November 2, 2007 at 12:12 pm #61130Cha0sEngineParticipantthere is an installer for it in one of the subdirectories in the game directory..
it dosent get installed by default.November 2, 2007 at 12:31 pm #61131sickofitallParticipantAh cheers, I might have a quick look tonight but I got it from Gamershell and checking back it didn’t mention the editor so I might not have got it with my download.
November 2, 2007 at 12:35 pm #61132LammieParticipantAssuming you have installed it in the default C:Program files
It’s in a folder called BIN (C:Program FilesElectronic ArtsCrysis SP DemoBIN) from memeory there short be a big ‘E’ icon if not I think the executable is Sandbox2. Run the installer and the aforementioned ‘E’ will be there.
Once installed and you run the editor for the first time (takes a few seconds to load fully, on the top left select File, Open and you should see island.??? this will then load the map in the editor.
I also like they fact with this editor that you can make changes to the map and from one of the menus in the middle (can’t remenber which one at the momnet but will edit this post if I remember later.) you select ‘Join Game’ and it takes you into the map where you last edited it and you can see firsthand what your changes look like from a first person perspective.
November 4, 2007 at 6:33 pm #61133XDCJuDgE-MenTaLParticipantLooks and plays great, very impressed with what I’ve seen so far. For me the ‘suit’ makes it, otherwise it might aswell have been called Far Cry 2 (not that that would have been a bad thing). Had to laugh when I thought I was safe hiding in this corrogated tin shack, the standard plan being “ok JuDgE, watch the door and cap anyone who plucks up the nuts to come in through either door..got it?”…this usually fool proof plan was working fine until some bright spark decides to aim in a nade which renovated the whole shed back into its ‘”just bought from Ikea state”, suddenly not the hiding place it once was.”Hey n00bie in the rubble, whats ya plan B?” “erm Cloak?, cya!!”:) …ahem.
I just hope it’s as long as Far Cry was, got a feeling it won’t be.
November 4, 2007 at 8:49 pm #61134XDC DutchmanParticipantLol Judge.
I do like the destroyable huts and buildings, adds a new perspective. Wonder how it’ll be once you are indoors though.
The demo gives a good impression, all that’s missing is a gatling gun so that you can mow down the damn forest and stop the enemy hiding in it !I did have a weird issue to start with, for some reason I had to set texture shading ( I think that’s it ) to high, otherwise most objects were invisible. Was quite funny in the beginning in the plan, I could only see the eye balls of the others in the plane and could also only see the plane’s outlines.
November 4, 2007 at 8:52 pm #61135XDCiNSANEParticipantmeh dont wanna play this till I get an upgrade.. I’ll probably be playing Crysis 2 then though hehe
Did you know there doing a Far Cry 2? looks nice and I think I posted it int gaming forum
