i have played it on and off for the last 6 months. its ok, it didnt grab me as much as brink did but i havent played with people i know so that may be part of the reason.
I played it for a few hours. Its very fast paced and can be frustrating if your team is full of potatoes. I really don’t like the way the class system is set up at all. Its tied to characters called mercenaries, each one being able to use certain weapons and special skills. You are given 3 mercenaries to start with, one can drop ammo packs and has an assault rifle, one has a shotgun and can heal/revive and the last has a grenade launcher which they can spam and kill everything. If you want any more variety then that you have to either pay real money (like £6 per fucking merc!) or earn enough in game currency to buy them. The mercs have alternate loadouts that you unlock randomly from packs that you can get at the end of rounds sometimes (like battlepacks from battlefield) but you can get loadouts for mercs that you dont own which is kind of useless.
After a couple of hours play I almost have enough to buy the sniper merc but i’m already bored with the started classes and cant really be bothered to carry on with it.
