doors on dvd and writer drives will not open, drives work fine but have to practically pry the doors open for to get access to the disc.any help wqould greatly be appreciated.

No long tern solution to your problem, but usually CD/DVD drives have a tiny little hole that you can poke the end of a paper clip into and it should release the drawer.
will have to try that out reminds me o f a cash register drawer there is a button in the back of one to relaese the door.Cheers Tess for idea.

i took one apart last week when somone had ripped the door off and handed me a cogg!!
they are not as complicated as you think – get a screw driver and open it up.. there is probably a cog out of place
