iv come down with some fucking nasty ear infection, including loss of balance, shit comming out of my ear and nose, the whole side of my head fucking hurts and its generally teh ghey. i go to the docs who says i have to have time off work and then pescribes me a shit load of amoxicillin, sum spray stuff and a load of painkillers….. she then refuses to write me a sick note after telling me to take time off resulting in me either giver her 14 quid to write one or an official warning from my boss.

A lot of them do that now , a bloke from work cracked a couple of ribs and they wanted him to pay to ask for light duties.

Hmmmm – something fishy here me thinks! You dont pay for sick notes… Munkee. Where the hell did you go?
Only thing I can think of is… If you have been off for 3 days or less there is absolutely no statuatory obligation for you to need a sick note from your doctor. Your employer is required by law to accept your abscence without a doctors note. Some GP’s try and enforce this rigorously to avoid lots of bullshit waste of space appointments with people wanting notes for work/school who shouldnt be wasting GP times for minor self limiting illnesses.

your employer can’t demand a sick note for 3 days or less and your doc can’t charge you after that time.
Yeh, fluffy and doc are right, they cant charge you, and three days is … errr ummm 🙂

I’ ve never paid for a sick note & once because I hurt my shoulder I phoned in sick for that night the boss was rather shitty. I phoned my GP told them they wrote a note & I got Phil to pick it up later that day.
Sounds a load of crap to me mate.can any of teh docs there recomend some stronger pain killers? the co – codamol make my head numb but there not fucking strong enough and iv had to go over the daily limit by quite a bit, had no fucking sleep and iv got a 15 hour shift tonight 😥
Sounds like you should take the night off if you can mate , I’m no doctor but you should take it easy or you will run yourself down and it will take longer to fight off the infection.
I know a good pain killer but you cant get it on pescription and It would make your head even number .
Take it easy if you can .

Co codamol has 500mg paracetamol and 8mg codeine in it… enough codeine to cause the side effect of constipation…… but no different from plain paracetamol for pain relief according to the latest studies 🙂 Got to love doctors who dont keep up to date with the latest pharmacology advances 🙂
Take some neurofen along with the paracetamol m8 – that should do the trick (assuming you have no contraindications to neurofen.. always read the label.)
