Game optimisation.

In case you didn’t see last months Custom PC – they had a feature on BC2 optimisation – basically checking to see what stuff you could change without making the game look shit but getting FPS up. Try it if you like.

1) Disable HBAO – very minimal visual improvement.

2) LOD at high.

3) Texture – medium.

4) Shadows – medium.

5) Effects detail – high.

6) AF – need to experiment – but performance hit minimal at higher levels – so try *16 if you want.

7) AA – more of a performance hit. Cutting it to 0 saves 25% FPS! – but game looks shit at less than *2 – so Leave it at *2.

I have followed their advice and get excellent subjective frame rates. Obviously all this is very hardware dependent.
