Laptop Boolocks

It’s not the programs installed that will slow the PC, It’s what loads on start up and what processes you are running. The Toshiba shit is usual for tosh laptops – You need to keep things like software modem, Tosh hotkeys and controls (allows you to change bios settings whilst in windows)

You’d be better off (if XP) running msconfig and see what starts up on boot and get rid of some of them not uninstalling programs. Also after laptop boot see what processes are running and find out if you need em – Process explorer from systernals or liutilities or google search should tell you what the processes are part of.

Failing that – run msconfig and select start up and then take a screenie, run task manager and select processes and take a screenie – post here and get the tech heads among us to suggest what to remove

Oh an Lammie, I’m not an accredited specialist! I got the hardware and software Tosh engineer qualifications but they don’t mean a lot – Turk’s issue is with windows running slow.

Oh yeah turks , there maybe a bios setting that will increase the speed a bit – what tosh is it ? I’ll look it up in the service manuals

head over to http://www.short-media.com and post your highjack this thread in the spyware section of the forum. They have several dedicated people who spend their time sorting through people’s spyware related issues.

(it’s a blatant plug because I’m a part time reviewer for them 🙂 )
