I recently had to reinstall windows, and it went ok except that now my D drive cannot be read. Disk manager shows my other drives as having NTFS but there is no file system for the D drive. Is there anyway to recover this without reformatting it?

hmmm tried but to no avail, thanks for the suggestion though. Decided to bite the bullet and format the disk, it works fine, but then lo and behold after next reboot, my E drive’s gone and snuffed it with exactly the same problem! 😯

Just incase anyone else has this problem, I stumbled upon the solution while reinstalling windows, again. Boot up pc with windows installation disk, select repair windows, and that should bring you to a command prompt. Type “FIXBOOT E:” (or whatever drive is fucked) and it fixes any corrupt boot sector.
