Levelcap’s weapon reviews are the best out there imho, so here’s him taking a look at the m16 changes. I agree with everything in this video, and those of you trying to tell me the nerf was massive should check this out. Also watch how tightly he controls his recoil, I certainly have a long way to go.
After much mucking about with the m416, I went back to the M16A3 to really see the difference, and there is a slight difference I think with rate of fire and damage rate, which seems to be a little higher on the M16A3 although at a cost of accuracy over distance, however as the video would indicate, practice will help with this.

Ahh well all good things come to an end. It’ll not take you long adapting to what really is a slight change to the m16. I’m quite comfortable even taking long shots with it now. One thing that may have added to the perception it’s been badly nerfed is the change to the heavy barrel. Definitely.still worth having it equipped, though you could argue against it on close range maps, but you do less damage at range now. Marginal change as well, but it all adds up.
