Hi People ,
I have recently been upgraded to an 8 meg line , my speeds on it are quite low and very variable ,
I was wondering if upgrading my modem would help me attain better speeds than I am getting at the moment , My current modem is several years old it is a zoom usb 1013 modem and I can find nothing about it even on google , so is it worth getting a wireless one ? or other type ?.I know not about these things .

Would be very suprised if it was Modem to be honest, for the price of them though you could probably just get one, I’ve got a spare adsl router you can have gratis if you want I’ve been using it for about 6 months and it’s ok.
Most problems lie in the fact most phone exchanges can’t actually give you 8 meg, e.g Birmingham the highest rated phone exchange in Birmingham is 4.3 meg. So to be honest unless it was NTL I would be supirised if you got more than that from your phone line.

Don’t think you need wireless with your setup mate. I’m pretty sure it’s my neighbour’s wireless that’s causing my skype to crash so I’d stick with a proper one unless you’re planning on getting a laptop.
