Just to answer the off topic stuff quickly.
On a side note are we going to be able to have 64 player sized maps but for 32 ppl? Feel the maps/ flags don’t allow for flanking, loving the game but it feels a tad frantic.
As things are at the moment, the only maps not set to the 64 version are Kharg Island, Caspian Border, and Seine Crossing. For the first two, we’ve really yet to experiment, but with Seine Crossing the feeling was that the 64 version was too spread out and concentrated the fighting in annoying areas. Use this thread if you fancy a change though or alternatively check this out and feel free to make the changes yourself. So far very little thought has gone into the actual rotation and we’re changing it all the time to try different things out, so by all means join in 🙂
The remaining 4 maps are as large as they can be in conquest mode, although the rush versions of them all are technically larger.
I think Matt was going to look into upping the server to 40 or 48 player and upping the size of maps to large. This is of course dependant on the number of server donations we get.
I feel this would give a decent balance without the frantic free for allness of the 64 player servers.
I’ll have a chance later in the week to come back to Gonzo about this, and at least cost the difference in upping our player count, but I have to admit to being slightly concerned by the difference it might make if we go through with it – i.e. not broke, don’t fix it, type concerns. We can talk through all the pros and cons when we know the costs though.
Cant say im huge fan of playing on servers with more then 32 players, but I guess it depends on the size of maps.
Me neither. Only a personal prefrence, but I like the large open maps like Capian etc.. the 64 Player CQB stuff is a wee bit too cartoon’y for my taste.
If i am not on the xdc server i play on 32 player servers that run large conquest maps. I play on nothing else
When i jumped on last night there was only 1 other person on there. So I.. well.. I may have played away, on another server.. sorry. I shouldnt have done it. but i did. AND IT FELT GOOD!
Mainly because I managed to get a decent k/d for the round, but that could have been due to a number of factors..
1) I occasionally do well.
2) They were shitter than me.
3) I dropped the grahpics settings to low, thus improving my framerate.#2 i think says something about the quality of the gamers that are attracted to the xdc server.
Im suffering from the same thing m8….i typed ‘noob’ in the browser list on the one time i have played on a different server…..
capped 5 players lined up in a row one after the other…..without loss of life
before quitting out and being able to get back on the XDC server……where i promptly proceeded to rack up a 2-15 loss !!
i also chalked off the dog tag of a developer from mass effect 3 on the first day as well
always been the same on any of the XDC servers i have played on…..its always attracted the best players due to the refusal to accept tard behaviour !!
long may it reign…..even if it is at the expense of my kd ratio !!
Ah, however, Wolf, Spunks and myself decided to go on a hardcore 32 player rush server last night.. Spawn. Die. Repeat.
I like the noobeh servers the best…..they are the ones best suited to this partucular old timer !! 😆

I have to!… “Spawn. Die. Repeat.” is you guys on a hardcore server, its me on a normal server 🙂
Its that or go looking for one of those stat padding sites ive read about!
(or just get a big bar of dairy milk and some porn)
