Updated today and it fucked about with my 2 pcs Zonealarm and killed net connection, after abit of mucking about and googling i found that the ZA guys recommend un-installing the update which, as it’s mainly a security patch, is abit fecking daft. Or turn down the ZA protection from high to medium, not ideal but it works.

    7 posts down is a good explanation…

    Any firewall recommendations?

Yeah, get rid of your third party firewalls and just use windows firewall with your firewall enabled on your router if you’ve got one. Shouldn’t have any problems with that set up.

    Totally agree with VG

Its only recently (due to g/f using my PC) that I’ve ever used virus protection software in all the years I’ve owned a PC let along Firewall software

I have the router fw and i like ZA as it shows me what programs are trying to connect out, i too don’t trust my gf, i nearly Stella wife beat her when she installed RealTime and Yahoo & Google toolbars, I mean FFS WOMEN.

…and don’t get me started on Fish Tycoon. 🙄

Anyway ive installed kubuntu for a change, that’ll confuse her.
