Oh you poor bugger.
I was with Tiscali until I moved house last year, where my first priority was to switch away from them.
Be prepared for peak-time latency throttling – my ping used to regularly drop from 30-40 to 100-150 at peak hours of 6-30 to about 10. Absolutely fucked my online gaming up.
Look at their support forums for similar tales of woe
Heh I was considering moving to them as my internet is not working great, My new house I am buying is 1/2km from the main cable box in Lincoln 🙂 and my work has Virgin and its blisteringly fast which is also near that box.
So planning on gettng 4MB cable from my rubbish 2MB ADSL that rarely gets to 2MB when I move to Lincoln.
i first came across them when they were world online and they fcuked up screaming net many moons ago it amazes me how they get away with such appalling customer service for so long.
oh sh1te, Pipex were ace, never had any problems with them…unlike these tossers in NZ who have so badly under invested we’re not looking at decent speeds until 2008…at best.

When I origionally read this I was going to come on here and say how good my service with Tiscali has been (I get good ping on BF2 and 2142, and providing I don’t download at peak times I get a good transfer rate).
However I couldn’t do that ‘cos Tiscali had done something to royally screw up their DNS server (couldn’t access Yahoo, Youtube, Ebay, Facebook, XDC etc) and it would be on the day that the wife is trying to read up on a new job. However, their tech support tells me that the problem isn’t with them but it must be because all the other sites are having problems.
Yeahright 🙄
