Check out what our Studnets Union has just started…
http://www.ugsu.org/main/advice/nomeansno
Therefore having sex with someone else who has said NO or who has not positively consented may well lead to rape charges.
So… in the heat of passion… you pop the question…
“errrr…. do you… positively consent to me having sex with you….?!”
Yes rape is very bad… but this is fucking rediculas!
October 4, 2006 at 11:01 am #34887TurksMeisterParticipantFuck me… its a national thing….
http://www.homeoffice.gov.uk/about-us/news/consent-campaign
‘I want young men to see these adverts and realise that they should not be having sex unless they have secured the consent of the other person. Our campaign is not saying “don’t have sex”; it is about ensuring that sex is mutually agreed.’
Surely this works both ways… if she doenst ask for consent from you – are you being raped?!
October 4, 2006 at 11:19 am #34888WipersParticipantI think this has been brought in to deal with the whole issue of sex whilst under the influence of drink/drugs. The bottom line is if your planning to shag a lass who has taken ANY alcohol/drugs you are on very shaky ground legally. Can ‘consent’ be given in a legal sense whilst under the influence?
Scary…
October 4, 2006 at 12:01 pm #34889XDCNeonSamuraiParticipantNice post Turks. This is a very serious issue.
If any woman you have slept with goes to the police station and says “Turks raped me” you will be considered guilty until you can prove otherwise. Guilty until proved innocent. That is a major change in the law.
Sleeping with a woman (let’s not mess around here, this is a law against men) without her saying ‘Yes’ is now a crime. I’m not kidding. If some guy is married and he can’t prove that his wife consented to sex, then he’s a rapist. Again we are all considered guilty until proven innocent.
The ‘Hard-Hitting’ campaign posters are bullshit. If she doesn’t say ‘Yes’ you could go to prison? What the fuck is that supposed to mean? It doesn’t fucking matter what she says to you, what matters is what she says to the police. Those posters should be saying “Next time you want to have sex with your wife/GF, video her saying “yes, you can have sex with me” otherwise she can say whatever she likes.”
Our government has decided that men are now rapists by default. It is up to us to convince them otherwise, or face time in jail.

Nope. Men cannot be ‘raped’, we can only be sexually assaulted. If the guy in the advert who you’ll end up sharing the bunkbed with takes a liking too you and fucks you up the ass, that’s a sexual assault, which I believe is the equivalent of a woman being groped. It carries a lesser sentence.
Plus if some drunken bint decides to give you a blowjob when you’re passed out at a student party:
“the meaning of rape has been expanded to include oral penetration”
You can even rape a girl when you are unconcious! Did she say ‘yes’, how the fuck could you know, but you still penetrated her orally!
Sorry for the soap box posturing and my prolific swearing but this is a pretty significant change in the law and one that will have serious repercusions.
October 4, 2006 at 12:03 pm #34890TurksMeisterParticipantBring on virtual women!
… unless they get rights too…. getting sued by some pixels… now that would be novel!
October 4, 2006 at 12:10 pm #34891sickofitallParticipantIt’s all very well them saying all this through adverts but what you can and can’t do changes to suit them I reckon. The other day I followed the advice of an advert and after telling a girl she could get tiscali broadband for 12.99 I showed her my cock and all of a sudden there are bloody busies knocking on my door and shouting something about indecent exposure. I wish these idiots would make up their bloody minds.
October 4, 2006 at 1:21 pm #34892LensmanParticipantNext you’ll be sued if you are thinking of a particular woman while having a wank. Breach of civil rights, or something. 👿
October 4, 2006 at 1:36 pm #34893VicJamesonParticipantYou mean that when I beat women unconscious and fuck their limp and yielding bodies that is technically rape? What is the world coming to? 😡

… I wonder if the lift home was worth it!
October 4, 2006 at 2:34 pm #34896TurksMeisterParticipantbtw… if you are having consensual sex, and then the woman suddenly changes her mind… in the time that it takes for her to “dismount” … are you raping her?!

October 6, 2006 at 10:00 am #34899TurksMeisterParticipantThey are all over the fucking shop… I dont understand what the message is here – If a woman sees you wearing one, she can be confident that you are not going to rape her… wtf?!
October 6, 2006 at 10:28 am #34900sickofitallParticipantThat BBC story reminds me of when my mate Taff Jones was prosecuted for rape. Thankfully he got off as well. Cardiff Crown Court decided that she was showing far too much flesh and was definitely asking for it – regardless of the fact that it was actually the farmer that had sheared her in the first place.
