I noticed from reading the older posts in the forum, and speaking to Matt and Doc, there are a few poker players in =xdc=
If anyone fancies a wee =xdc= poker tournament I found this from Pokerstars http://www.pokerstars.com/poker/home-games/. I know a few of you prefer the live poker games, but with the addition of Team Speak, it could be fun.
Obviously, the stakes would have to suit all budgets, but that could be agreed in advance. 😀February 24, 2011 at 3:30 pm #78492XDC_WolfParticipanttips for poker. don’t play against doc. It’s not that he’s good (he is) it’s just he will delight in stealing your money, and never let you forget it, even if you consistently beat him everyday. He’s just like that (although he is on a losing streak at the moment, mumbled something about “bad luck” which is most unlike the rational doctor we know).
Matt is ok to play against as long as you get him wasted before hand. If he even asks my advice on TS about his poker hand, you can tell he’s not thinking straight, I’m crap at poker (but I enjoy it!)
February 24, 2011 at 3:38 pm #78493xdcmaniacParticipantWolf, its not specifically a “Doc” trait, it’s a Scottish one… If a Scottish millionaire found a pound in the street, it’d be the highlight of his year. 😀
As for Matt, not too worried as there is no chance of Tank Whoring in a poker game….
So, you up for it then Paddy?
February 24, 2011 at 5:21 pm #78494LammieParticipantI’m up for it – used to play a fair bit on pokerstars and wasn’t too bad.

I’m up for that, and maybe some poker too 🙂
How much are we playing for?
February 24, 2011 at 6:03 pm #78496xdcmaniacParticipantI’m happy to play at any stakes.. I downloaded the PokerStars software, and I’m sure there are other alternatives. But I can set any type of game in my poker room from cash to tournament, as well as the various types of play. So, how’s about $5 buy-in, paying on 1st and 2nd place, with an option to re-buy?
I am mostly a cash game player, but I’m sure I can adapt to tournament style play.
