Ive had a random idea… I am sure someone here would know about this sort of thing.

I am currently typing on a crappy old laptop which is over heating, full of viruses and shit… I have an awesome machine up in the roof which is pretty powerful but not convenient to use casually. Rather than cloud computing out there in the nether… is it possible to harness the power of my desktop via wifi, so that I dont have to spend $400 on a new laptop? I know about remote desktops, but I want to be able to harness the power without my wife fucking my PC up with all the stupid links she clicks on (and then completely refuses to believe it was her that fucked it up… and then looks up “streaming TV sites”). Grrr

Hmm maybe I should just use a remote desktop client… who knows….

You can do that but it’s still only going to run at the speed of your laptop/device that is connecting to then RD session. You won’t be able to stream videos and or games using this method very well either.
