    Chaps,

Running Vista on my quad core attached to a Dell 2400 FPS screen.

Resolution is set at 1920*1200 by my Gforce 8800 GTS and seems to be the max according to the slider

Normal desktop resolution sucks, in-game it is ok. I noticed the other day when I come out of a game the desktop resolution is much higher than normal, prolly around the 2400*1400 or maybe even 1600 level.

When the game quits completely, the desktop switches back again to the 1900*1220 within a few seconds.

Anyway I can improve to the higher resolution all the time?

Pod the Dell 24″ has a maximum resolution of 1920 x 1200 (we have them at work). So I dont know how you are seeing anything higher??

dunno either, but the screen props tell me I am running at 1900*1200 but coming out of a game the res is significantly higher, especially on the fonts

You sure your seeing all of the screen and its not a higher res with the edges off the actual monitor? or the font display size has been reduced?

nope , entire screen for instance the TS box, including fonts etc. has a much higher res when the game quits just before it hands the entire screen back to the OS

ur tripping, the dell 2407 has 1920×1200 max

scaling may have downscaled, but i can assure you that 1920×1200 is the physical maximum of that unit unless issy newton made a mistake 🙂
