I loved the first one of these, esp LAN games of it with my mates.. now with ludicrous blood and decapitations

The original Soldier of Fortune was known for its excessive brutality and developer Cauldron has spared no expense to put as much blood and dismemberment on the screen as humanly possible. The violence is so ludicrously extreme, that it’s almost impossible not to laugh with glee. It’s as if Cauldron used the over-the-top trailer for John Rambo as basis for Payback’s gameplay. In other words, it’s pretty awesome.

the second Soldier of Fortune (not payback but the one out for the PC, after the first, that wasnt called second for some stupid reason) was great for the gore, and marks made when u shoot enemies, much like the first but more detail, and this one looks even better, sexy stuff.
Problem with SOF2 on the PC was that once you got over the gore gimmick all you had was an average FPS with a crap online mode where people either spammed with the nade launcher or the gay shotgun.
But bloody hell, that was years ago – even before BF1942 if I remember rightly.
On the subject of dragging back old games, they’re doing a new Bionic Commando as well – and if you remember the first one you’re too old to be playing computer games that’s for sure.
yeah i noticed that the other week SOIA when I was looking for a flash version of Bionic Commando to play free.. top game.. but will probably be redone to be shit 🙁
I never got passed the gore bit.. i loved just going round shooting limbs off etc etc.. brill
