This is definitely one of the better star trek films, but not quite the best as some people have hyped it. There are some inexplicably random sequences designed to introduce a character, which are not entirely thought through, and they took away from the from the whole thing for me, but overall it was pretty damn good. Casting was near perfect too, even though I intially thought Syler as Spock was a bit of an odd choice 🙂
3rd or 4th best out of the 11 for me 🙂

Even the plot leading to Kirk, Spock, and Scotty all meeting up on the ice planet? That was one of the most half arsed ill thought out sequence of events I’ve ever seen in a film, and ruined the overall movie for me. The rest was excellent though.
it was somewhat contrived but this is just a continuation of what you expect from a star trek movie..
