I havent had broadband for so long now I am beginning to forget all the fun I used to have on the servers with you guys, miss the COH comps with Spunker especially.
Good news is that my wee island is getting dragged into the 21st century very soon (months after I was initially promised) – hopefully i will be back on line and can help contribute to the cost/ make up the numbers when i get connected.

Woohoo I’m getting my old BF2142 skills back, last night I got kicked off a clan server because I was owning their clan and was in line for gold!!!
All they said was that I was a bit too good (ergo I was hacking), I think it’s time for the orginal hackmeister to get his BF2142 boots back on and show these new breed muppets a real player , come on Maxi maybe Fluff too because I can remember him being pretty tasty on BF2142 as well..Sorry I wasnt on TS last night mouse I was havingproblems with the program plus I was only online for 30 mins!! I’ll try and catch you tonight around 7.30 if your on.
Yeah but Max is a haxxor. We’ve always known that and been repeatedly told by the little twerps who come to our server and call him a cheat. We’ve also been called ‘gay Frenchmen’ too as far as I recall…

So I’ll look forweard to the comeback 😉check out empire in ruins mod for COH, it’s a web based mod which ou need to check out, it’s great fun, basically you pick your armies before the games and only have those companies to call into, it’s a small download, best explained on the site though. http://www.europeinruins.com
Big thanks to everyone tonight on the tf2 server, great effort! That was the most we’ve managed to get on our server since before Easter, just a pity the server settings probably ruined it. There was a problem with Steam update during the week causing our server to go down, and to fix it Gonzo used an image of some other server to reinstall tf2 on ours. He must’ve also used an old backup for beetlesmod as we ended up using a very old “noob” config which had been fixed. Luckily I made backups of recent server settings, so it’ll be fixed as soon as I get up tomorrow.
Again though, great turnout for an off the cuff session, and hopefully we can keep this momentum going 🙂
This is odd, I’ve just had a look at the dustbowl settings and they’re the same as I left them before Gonzo did anything, and I tested they work as they should and they do. Has anyone else been playing with the config last night or today, because otherwise I’m at a complete loss as to why the map changed when it did last night 😕
a few small things that are bugging me. Firstly it automatically asigns you a class as soon as you enter and yesterday I was picking a team and it wouldnt let me join. I understand that auto ballance was on but this was when one of the sides was one man down
hmm is anyone else had this happen, because it’s not happening to me?
I added this to the server.cfg since I couldn’t find any other autobalance settings:

Had our best night on the server tonight with it full most of the evening, though sadly it emptied a bit while on hyrdo (fair enough – can’t believe it won a vote)), and while the games carried on until about half ten we were never more than 3 quarters full (and only then on avanti). We finally managed to get some custom maps on the go and they were a hit, with serveral people say they’re adding server to favourites, which was music to my ears I’ll tell you!
One thing I found interesting; tonight I started trying to fill her up around 5pm, which was the time I used to be on back in January, and it was much more successful than starting at 7, as has been the case more recently. Maybe just a one off, but if anyone else is around at that time (5 too early for me normally unless I’m off) it might be worth a try again. Having a server with even a few people on it around the time people get home from work might just be the one trick we’re missing atm.
Also wanted to say a big thank you to everyone of us who came on tonight, it was a massive help 🙂 I noticed one or two problems with the servers setup, but they were minor and are easily fixed, also I didn’t see anything wrong with the VOIP in game tonight, which was a bonus. Did anyone else notice anything though that we should take care off, and how did everyone find the map voting system as we have it atm (pretty much a copy of the crazy server settings)?
Oh and Jonny I still don’t know what that problem is you’re having with autobalance, I’ll look into it but it seems to be only affecting you which is odd. We can’t turn autobalance off because how could we keep things even without it?
