Doh! Thats annoying. Lets just take it as red that the post was filled with effusive praise for myself… and a statement that all your kids were getting vaccinated tomorrow! 😀 Job done.

got an x on that picture mate.

Any way… getting back to holiday vaccines, im debating wether the RABIPUR is worth while. the way i understand it is that it is not a vaccine but an aid to give you longer to find treatment, as we are not planning on trecking off to far into the jungle is it really necessery?
might seem petty trying to save 300 quid on it but thats a lot of cash at this moment in time and if it wasnt nessecery then its money i dont really want to spend.

how critical is it to have this perticuler vacine?

FFS – I wrote a great piece in reply to you Judge… but its dissapeared. What the hell is wrong with these forums?

Anyways… i cant be arsed going through it all again… the main point of it all was that a lot of the ‘facts’ you are using are quite simply wrong. Not your fault by any means… unfortunately there is a lot of bullshit on the net that can be tricky to untangle.

Dont take my word for it… this guy is brilliant. A superb precis of what to look out for when people start quoting statistics at you.

    http://www.pathguy.com/antiimmu.htm

It will take a while to read… but if you can be arsed… it should give you some useful counterbalance.

As a final thought…. every GP I know vaccinates their own kids…. so if there is some evil conspiracy to maim our children and line ‘the man’s pockets… it may make you feel better to know that we are victims too.

Oh…. and we dont get 2 grand for every kid that we vaccinate FFS – though i would support such a measure if it was proposed 😈 There are 70 and 90 percent target bands – but the payment is very low per child. A practice as a whole may get a few grand in total for hitting its targets – but its small fry compared to other revenue streams. Why do we have target bands? Cause if we didnt GP’s couldnt be arsed persuading worried know it all middle class parents to get their kids jabbed… which leads to lack of herd immunity… which leads to death and debility on a biblical scale if it is taken to extremes (500million deaths to smallpox in history… deaths last year – zero because of vaccination. Deaf/blind children each year pre rubella vaccination in the states – 20000. Deaf blind children caused by rubella in America last year – zero… because of vaccination. etc etc etc.)

Maybe we should just agree to disagree 😕

Oh Munkee… i would save my money if i were you. As long as you stay well clear of animals you will be fine. If you get ANY kind of animal bite or scratch you will need to get to a hospital – preferably within a couple of days at the most…. but i would personally take the small risk. Depends on your threshold for uncertainty really. I regularly chuck myself down 10 foot waves at the moment for fun… so i may not be a good person to ask about risk/benefit ratios 🙂

Fair enough m8 I’ll gladly read it, like I said it’s not that all vaccinations don’t work, thats not my belief and I don’t think there’s a conspiracy to deliberately mame and of course it doesn’t make me happier to think that you are victims too duh…

My concern is that the other risks seem to have been ignored. The lesser of 2 evils? maybe, but the pharmaceutical industry should have the stones to admit it and stop the public lynching of whistle blowers (whether they were right or wrong) and do the proper research instead of just cashing in big time.

P.S Facts weren’t from the net, most were from books and medical journals that my mrs used for her degree.

Ach maybe our positions aren’t so far apart after all. I hate the money grabbing pharmaceutical companies too. Your basic suspicion of them is probably justified to some degree. I refuse to see drug reps myself and would rather we nationalised drug research to a large extent… but what can you do?
