Just got back from Holibobs in Marsa Alam (the up and comming new Sharm El Sheik) anyhoos, v nice hotel, v, v friendly people and unbelievable snorkling to be done, never snorkled before but what an amazing experience, never seen anything like it and loved every minute of it, It’s one of if not the best place for diving in the world
As mentioned I’ve not snorkled before, at first I was a bit “fuck me” this is scary because of the breathing technique, the hot to cold patchyness of the sea and the way the floor beneath you just dropped, not to mention in some parts you could only see darkness infront of you.. the red sea has blacktip, whitetip sharks, hammerheads, the not so scary whale shark and the Tiger shark etc, but its enough to put the bejeepers up you first of all.. but I prevailed and v glad I did, you get used to it and it has to be seen to be believed. I fully recommend a trip there if you have never been, The snorkling was right on the doorstep of the hotel we stayed in (Lamaya Resort) .. clear as clear water, coral everywhere and so much fish you would only see through glass in an aquarium, swam with them up close and personal.. to see an octopus live and direct changing colours to match the suroundings it was on waiting for prey to swim past was breathtaking.. just wish I’d have taken a waterproof camera with me
I fancy the Scuba Diving next time
found a couple of snorkling vids..
