Well look at this, I’ve actually remembered this year in time to ask the question; who would like to celebrate XDC’s birthday?
Every year I mean to post something like this and arrange at least one birthday celebration night but I either forget until too late or in true XDC fashion, just can’t be arsed. Not this year though, because apart from wanting to encourage us all to start doing stuff together again online, this October XDC is 10 years old, and that must be worth doing something for. So what I’d like to know is who is interested in a few nights next month dedicated to a game we’ve played in the past, such as Rogue Spear, BF42, BF2, or everything we’ve ever set our eyes on if you want (there are enough days in October for it). If we can get a rough idea on numbers, and set a date for particular games, we can get all the logistics done in advance, like sorting torrents for older games and arranging servers for the newer ones. We keep talking about doing these sort of things, but now’s the perfect excuse to actually do them, so if you’re interested, sign up below and feel free to add any suggestions or ideas you may have yourself about it 🙂
I was going to suggest the same, but October’s not really the best time of year for it. Having said that though, I have the week of the 19th booked off work, and two weeks also at the start of November so it would suit me ok assuming the costs weren’t too high. You guys could always pile up to Edinburgh, where I could put a couple of people up for the night if necessary, and Erratic Space lives fairly close by too.
I would be up for a weekend away in Edinburgh, but Oct is a bit too early to plan for… Perhaps some time in Nov?
no can do for me……………i’m in the States in Oct then return only to have to go over to Ireland for a Christening so cash wise i’ll be on huge minus numbers!! 🙁

If it’s November, just name your date and I’ll see if I can work around it. I’ve the first two weeks of the month off work, my Brother is visiting one weekend, and I may be going home one of the others. No solid dates for anything set yet though, so let me know asap.

Perhaps something in the new year? The later we book, the cheaper it will be… Unless WET is happy to taxi us all up there?!
hmm you’ll be lucky to get it cheaper than what easyjet currently advertise on their website for November. If you travelled on Halloween morning and back on the Monday it would cost £40-£50 return to London (work internet is not letting me view the full cost with tax included). Just an example weekend, but the point is that we’re far enough in advance of November to get cheap deals….and that’s also cheaper than anyone driving up.
