Because my Xbox 360 has broken.
8 days after the warranty ran out. Count ’em. You couldn’t make it up.
What a bunch of cheeky, swindling, pikey bastards.
Gonna have to buy a new DVD player now. Can anyone recommend me something piss cheap that I can plug into my telly and play avi’s/wmvs and all that crap on (preferably straight from a portable hard drive)?

Not sure if it is any good – but people in that thread seem to think so.
theres an extended warranty on all xboxes, get em called up and sort it out.. mind you youre bever on the cunting thing so maybe better with a dvd player
I suspect any DVD player will play DVDs these days.. I got one from errm.. fuck i forget but it was a cheapo never heard of that did divx etc etc.. cost me £20!
Cheers Turks, for 15 quid I’ll give that a go. I’ll be able to watch gentlemas special interest films on my big telly as well – bonus.
I did play on the Xbox quite a bit Insane but it was actually FIFA 10 that made me ditch the thing completely and go back to PC gaming. For some reason I got a terrible connection to Live when I used it (despite the fact my PC connects just fine to online games) even when I could connect for more than 5 minutes the half second delay I got while playing FIFA made it a pain in the arse.
But worst of all playing online broke all my save games so that the game just kept freezing for some unfathomable reason. A problem I’ve seen mentioned on the FIFA forums a few times, so it wasn’t just me.
Shame, because for all my moaning about it I did have some decent games on the machine. I’ll probably leave it over the summer and see if I’ve got reason to replace it, get a PS3 instead or just not bother. Being a tight arse affords me the privilege of seeing how I feel a bit later.
