A thread for WET, since I’ve come across a few titles recently which I guess he hasn’t.

First up is a new release out in the last couple of days claiming to be the first truely modern take on a WW2 FPS and, except for shit looking gfx, it does look kinda stylish:

I personally don’t see too much multiplayer potential in that, or at least nothing up to today’s standards.

An alternative you may want to check out is Heroes and Generals, which Paddy and Chris have been playing a bit of lately, along with a few others (although I can’t see myself getting into it with PS2 still far too much fun). This is a free to play WW2 shooter, which is a little complex, but I have to say that my first game did feel very much like BF42.

Cheers I’ll have a look when I get home. I know I’m an old fart but just can’t see the total love in for modern warfare time after time when you have such a rich theatre as WW2 on which to base a top dog modern equivalent of BF42. EA could really do it justice but yet they choose cops and robbers ffs, what next doctors and nurses or conkers?

i would love a WW2 style BF game, even if they made it as an expansion for BF4.

or heres an idea, give the community the ability to mod BF3 and create their own severs and see what happens. its not the latest tech.
