That said, I am currently on a drive to finance a new rig… If my ebay sales work out, I will have about £200 for it, and hopefully around £600 in June ish… whoop whoop!

I know what toothy means.. there are some good reasons for consoles.. there is also no advantage given to rich bastards who can spend 2k on a new rig every 6 months.. everyone has the same playing platform.
having said that there is no way I would want to play with one of the blasted controllers.. I have tried and it sucks.
this is not meant to a be a pro wii post but introduce the point and shoot capabilities of the wii controller and suddenly you have a console control system that is not just as good as keyboard and mouse but way better.. I have not played it yet but they claim that Res Evil 4 on the wii is the definitive RE4 experience due to the wii control system… now if xbox got wii controllers… this might be something worth having.
Also… been looking at the different Xboxs… lots of chat about different models (Jasper/falcon etc)… Whats this all about then?
Think new PC takes priority over Xbox though 🙂
I played RE4 on the Wii, controls were good. MOH on the Wii had the same controls and it was hideous. Guess it depends on the developer?
I was originally like you Magicker, consoles were crap for FPS but I really like it now, am a true convert, and I think the fact that I can sit back and relax and play with the controller behind my head is a cool…..err…. gimmick.
Fark all difference in the models, one breaks a bit more often than the other and that’s it. Yeah and the colours really improve the performance, especially if hidden away out of sight 😛
Scrap the new PC, all you need is BF42 and HL2 mods and you are set!
I was shit with the controllers to start off with, but am pretty good now… practice makes perfect innit!
I like to be able to have mates round and play, and also be sitting on my sofa, and further away from the screen.
That said, if there is a game that comes out that reuites us all, I will be back in there in an instant!!
Totally agree with console lovers, its just so easy and less hassle (not that I have hassle with my l31B PC and connection) just not a game out there that makes me walk upstairs.. agree re M&K though, I can play em pretty well with controller, but accuracy is out the window 🙂 A true gamer should be able to game with anything 😉 And the 360 controller is the sexiest controller ever, hope they never change it’s design.. PS3 controller is shit

It’s not a console!Re Xbox chips, I have a Jasper, (the best one at the mo) they are meant to run a lot cooler than the others, my advice when you get one (and you will) is to get this.. make sure you either ask when you buy, or check the PSU (on side of box) it should be 175w or less.
The controller argument always comes up until some smartarse
points out that you can just plug your 360 controller into your PC and it works.
Anyway
PS3 – good machine but still too expensive with very limited software compared to the others.
360 – good for recreating that jet plane taking off in your living room effect. Built by thalidomides and breaks down every 5 f***ing minutes and isn’t sturdy enough to use as a bloody doorstop.
PC – still pretty expensive, cock all games except badly ported 360 titles than run like an exploded dog no matter how fancy you make your machine. Internet connection gives you access to limitless amounts of videos of birds being fifteen/one’d by gurning blokes.
Wii – Pointless bollocks for girls.There you go.

on a practical note.. where is the best place to buy a 360 controller for a pc? some of the lame ass console ports are sod all use with out one and Riley wants to play lego batman?
360 all the way…..when you are as hopeless as i am at using and understanding pc’s there really is no choice between the two…..it was ok when judgeh was in the uk and was over over every other weekend with a handful of free games and the know how to fine tune and correct my dodgy website usage.
but since then my pootah is slowly dying on a daily basis……why oh why does everything have to be so unbelievably fucking difficult to do when they go wrong ?? why oh why is it written in that weirdy beardy pootah speak ?? its absolutely fucking alien to me…..any advice offered recives a blank stare similiar to the the look i offer up when i am being given detailed instructions on how to get to a location even though i have mentioned 5 times i have a tom tom !!!
