    One of my mates has just got 2142 and has been trying to play it with very limited success. Normally, when he tries to connect to a server (ours included) he gets a message that reads:

    You have been disconnected from the server. Please check your network settings and try again.

    I always get that message at least once during a session, but sometimes that’s all he gets 20+ times in a row. Then he’ll connect and his machine works fine. He also only gets a list of about 110 servers at the most when he connects, and that takes a lifetime to refresh.I thought it might be the firewall, but that’s not even on, and he has another PC connected to the same router which runs fine. We’ve made sure that punkbuster is up to date and that he’s got the latest patch.

    He’s a WoW player and never has any problems with that, just 2142. Anyone got any ideas?

    he could try port forwarding/virtual server settings in his router……..may be worth a try even if his firewall is off……the ranges i’m using are:-

    27990-29920 TCP/UDP
    55123-55215 UDP
    16567-16567 UDP
    1500-4999 UDP
    80-80 TCP
    4711-4711 TCP

    again, this may not work but at least it rules something else out.

    Cheers WET. I’ll get him to give it a try. He’s supposed to be upgrading to BT wireless broadband soon though, so might wait until after that to try out those changes.
