On the PC however, I am dipping between

GTAIV – lovin’ it
Dead Space – pretty good headphones, lights off job.
Far Cry 2 – not bad, but as a sandbox game sadly lacking against the mighty GTA
Left 4 Dead – COOP-tastic, just got expert to do.
Tomb Raider Underworld – what?? a tomb raider sequel thats actually held your attention JuDgEh? Why yes, I actually quite like it.
CnC Red Alert 3 – woulda been better if Atkinson had actually got her baps out. Not a bad game but not jaw dropping.

and of course TF2 – nuff said.

Games that got the cut….

Brothers in Arms – Hells Highway, lost interest and couldn’t be arsed to wait any longer for the patch so I could continue ….a mighty f**k up from Gearbox/ATi. Ok game but flawed mechanics making some stand offs laughable, no real tactics required..

Alone in the Dark 5 – just don’t ….

Beijing 2008 – hahahaha, what was I fuckin thinking waste of bandwidth…err I mean money 🙂

anyone playing the full game?

I think it’s pretty good, love CO-OP anyway so this is well worth a punt.

Things what rox:

-Being able to idle and have your player taken over by a bot while you go for a dump.
-The Sniper Rifle
-Versus mode (apparently, I’ve not touched that yet.)
-The Banter, when you get 4 comedians on the mics, don’t know why but this has been funny as fuck, not sure why it’s different than CS say. I guess mostly down to the abuse hurled at the person in character or people actually playing ‘in character’. Ageist humour at Bill etc. My mate last night playing as Louis, suddenly putting on his finest Chris Rockesque voice standing next to a burnt house plant turning to everyone and in the torchlight coming out with “Which one of you niggaz forgot to water my shit, I toll you dat ma shit need to be watered, fuck you muthatfukkaz” walks out door Hunter grabs him “Oh thats just fuckin great, pick on the black guy muthafukka” (guess you had to be there) I was in tears for about 5 minutes wish I’d demo’ed it coz it was priceless.
-The shit your pants factor playing late at night when a Hunter pins you from nowhere.
-The fact that there’s a Redneck called Francis.
-Bill’s one liners.
-Pipe Bombs
-Being able to still talk (help and abuse) the players when your dead
-Friends only games, total lack of teamkilling fagboys. (unless you roll with teamkilling fagboys of course)

Things that kinda suck

-coming back from the karzee only to find that your bot has given away your med pack and left you with fuck all health.
-falling down and only being allowed to use pistols
-The only real variation in the games is where the Tank Boss appears or where the 2nd level guns appear. Boomers, Smokers and Hunters are just everywhere and Hordes spawn randomly but one is much like the next.
-Just managing to survive long enough to make it to the safe room, thinking you’ve finally got the section cracked only to open the door to a Tank and having to do the whole level again for the 8th time.
– Just managing to survive long enough to make it to the final bit of the last level only to get killed by a team mate. (at least you get a ‘dedicated to the memory of’ in the credits.)

not many games have kept me up late like this has though, and all the above in only 2 outings it’s defintely a ‘ok one more crack’ game. I’ve still only fully done 2 of the 4 movies and Versus mode is on the agenda tonight.

EDIT: Versus mode is cool, love the way the’ve implemented it. you play a section as the survivors and the other team has to thwart it by spawning as either a smoker, a hunter, or a boomer (if ya lucky a tank). As the infected you choose where to spawn out of sight and you can see the outlines which are coloured for their health level, highly recommended.

yea after severe pier pressure I caved too, and it is very cool. I love the horde dive on a carefully planned pipe bomb. I do like deliberately setting off the car alarm and running down the subway :). Haven’t been on a team that got through expert yet (probably because of stunts like the above), have come close but there’s always a Rambo….or people that run in front of you and stand in a doorway, hopefully they will learnz soon enough 🙂 Getting past the Tank guy’s pretty hard and you hear the crying witch, torch off and leave well alone.

Hope I’m wrong but I’ve got a feeling this might come and go and get samey quite fast (difficult to say from the short demo) but it’ll do nicely in between Far Cry 2 and the next TF2 patch thats for sure.

Yea I’d like to think he’ll be around for a while but I can’t, not as long as there’s guys like this around.
