The thing I always say to anyone who wants to join on the server outside XDC is play hard and play fair – if your used to going on pub servers to rackup easy kills you will get your arse firmly handed to you on a plate on the XDC Server.
Some of the CoUK guys sometimes wander in occasionally and I always find it funny looking at their forums are reading that they thought they weren’t too bad a player until the had a few rounds on XDC and got completely battered. Playing on the XDC can be a very steep learning curve in order to survive and compete with organised squads.
XDC have been playing BF in various guises since 42 and I found their server from around NAM when I wasn’t playing DC Final on the Multiplayers server.
I think the general rule for the XDC server is fair play, fun and teamwork within the spirit of the game with the obvious exception of Max because he is a farkin haxxor 😉

I agree but specifically saying it’s the fault of the testers is simply not true which is where I was coming from . I am not defending EA/DICE and what they decide to put out in the public domain that’s there call and nobody else. You can test and test and test and report problems but at the end of the day EA/DICE decide what gets fixed nobody else.
The reality is no game is perfect and that goes for any game developer and people will always find bugs or things they don’t like, it comes with the territory.

I also was on the 2142 beta, the first ever thing I saw when I joined a server was someone being insulted via some form of faggotry. Most of the beta testers were just there to play the game before any of their mates and gloat, they really didn’t seem to give a shit about being constructive in any shape or form, so yeah….. most beta testers = public server smacktards… = no confidence in the system.
To be honest with you that was a PR excersice after the problems with BF2 to get people to try before you buy and get the communities talking about 2142 very much a marketing ploy. The Public Betas are just that unfinnshed content released to the community to play around with and I can assure you those people you came across on those public servers were not what I call Beta Testers, they were as you quite rightly said, people who got the content early for bragging rights. Again EA/DICE call and something I personally believe doesn’t add any significant value other than to run the content across multiple hardware and software platforms and try and catch any compatability issues before going to full production.
What I find most amusing is those same people who claim to beta test (Public beta tests) are usually with most vocal on forums about how much they hate the game and how EA/DICE sucks. Rather ironic really.

Spectator Mode is for UNRANKED Servers only and has been added as a result of feedback from the competitive league players. This will not be a feature on Ranked Servers.

That forum although apparently popular is pretty much dominated by overly hormonal(sp?) prepubesant children. It is very much a pissing contest and pretty much like some of the Official forums attracts the twats we all try very hard to avoid.
