I have never moved anyone and left them. Ever. Nor would I. Moving someone to a different channel is funny as long as the people who do it know it’s a joke and when discussing this with Batesy the other day he thought it was a laugh, but if he wants to tell you something different then fine.
Fuck it,I’m outta here, remove my rights to view the private channels. I’ve had enough. Matt managed to convince me to stick around before, but frankly I’ve had enough, every suggestion I have raised since returning to XDC after an enforced sojourn has been more or less laughed at, the TS server is humourless and boring, I get no kicks out of playing with most of you anymore.
I am restraining myself from saying exactly what I think of alot of people here, some I will miss and intend to keep in contact with through other means.
the reason may lie with the fact that when it has been raised it has been discounted out of hand by some.

Now I understand these may have been in jest, but do you honestly think that it feels good to have those responses to your serious post? Despite the subsequent replys all saying “great idea, lets do it” it hasn’t happened because I know if I suggest it I will get scoffs of derision from some on TS, and unfortunatly there is never anything organised. But then fun is rarely organised, it’s usually spontaneous, a spontaneity that is impossible to achieve almost on the XDC server because we all know that some people don’t want anything to do with that side of XDC (which is funny because I’m sure that was what XDC was based on, o tbeing bothered about what is going on, just having fun.
Just chatting to Messy on MSN.. I have to say I’m not happy with the way he’s been treated on TS.. being moved to a channel on his own about 4 times sucks.. regardless of whats happened Sad But I understand theres 2 sides to every story so I’ll be keepin a clear head
I’m sorry, just read this. Messy got moved by me a few times, just as I have moved various people and have been moved and kicked myself. immature, yes. Funny, yes. TBH every one gets moved back after about 20 seconds, if Messy thinks it’s him I’m victimising then he has a God complex. Ask Batesy, do it to him all the time, and guess what, he finds it funny. Ask him.
Thats the issue though, you enjoy playing a serious game and get pissed off with people having a laugh, yet you are not willing to see that other people play this game to have fun, it doesn’t have to be serious all the time, why get pissed off with people enjoying themselves, doing something different on the server, why should it always be serious games. We all enjoy a serious game, I don’t want that to stop, but you seem to have no time for others who want to have fun inb a different way, do something we couldn’t do on a server that doesn’t belong to us? It strikes of hypocricy, have fun my way or not at all. I’m sorry, but that’s ridiculous getting pissed off at other people enjoying themselves in a different way. FFS, we have serious games EVERY NIGHT OF THE WEEK, why the resistance to having a non serious mess around?
It may seem selfish to you guys that some people don’t play it your way all the time, that sometimes some people will go off and do their own thing on a map, but stop and ask yourselves, are you not being selfish by insisting we have the same games every night, not allowing people to enjoy themselves in whatever way they see fit? Hell it’s not as if we’ve ever locked the server down on our own back and enforced people to have fun, it’s just that the occasional times some people go off and have a jeep race there is a general feel on TS that we are ruining the game for everyone else. Well guess what, serious gaming every night has ruined the game for some people, we have memebres who don’t play BF2 anymore because it’s the same every night.
Whilst I agree that the bannning of 1stBW was a little out of left field it at least got some debate going and has highlighted some issues which have been brewing for some time.
In my memory there has only ever been a handful of occasions that a jeep race has been held during a game and they have been fun for those involved. Now if this was happening on a nightly or even a weekly basis and people were generally ignoring the game then I could see your point, but they don’t, they are a rare occurence that happens once every so often, and when they do you can almost hear the tuts from some XDC members. Feck it, 99% of the games are as you describe, great teamwork, sensible play, but look at the server rotation, Karkand 32, Sharqi 64, oman 16, mashtur 64, God damn, I actually changed the map to Zatar 64 last week because I HAD NEVER PLAYED IT BEFORE. The maps are all based around what some people want, infantry infantry infantry, I enjoy flying occasionaly, but because people don’t like to be bombed all the time by messy and others then I rarely get to fly on our server, not to mention that it’s well nigh impossible to get in a plane when 1stBW are on.
I am sick and tired of BF2 on the XDC server, it is as far removed from XDC as a server that allows team killing, base raping, stat padding, etc. (IMHO), and just because those who have practically disappeared/stopped playing BF2 because of this don’t post about it doesnt’ means that it’s not an issue.
Face it, the server is run as it is for those who want to play that way, I have no beef with that, but why the resistance to a little change? Why the dissaproval of those having a bit of fun. Oh wait, no I know, it’s not YOUR idea of fun therefore it can’t be fun.
Let me get this straight. a group of people who hang out on Ts, post on forums and play well and regularly on our server are being considered for banning?
Normally the above criteria is how we select people for XDc not for removing them!!!
I enjoy playing and listening to all the 1st BW lads and missed them on Ts last night. What happened to them?

Apologies for raising a concern over the fact that we have discussed their entry to XDC and decided against it. My concern here is that existing members of XDC have been driven of the server by their costant presence, some are fine upstanding people who are worthy of a place on the server and in XDC imho, but to ban one for being a dick would drive the others away (personally I am going on the record to say that I cannot stand Messy, he is abusive to guests on the server and ignorant of the fun involved in XDC and there have been many occasions I have had grounds to kick him but haven’t knowin in advance the grievances I would get from memebers of XDC, that alone is an issue I would clarify in another thread).
I am quite frankly shocked that people here have forgotten what it is like to play a fun gmae, we were never serious about having competetive games every night on bf ’42, XDC was a refuge for those who were bored of the crap that goes on around the other servers, being kicked unreasonably, tked for vehicles, no admins present, etc. and whilst getting rid of these issues has menat a high standard in games, both competitively and in terms of playing a team based game as teams, both in XDC and influencing those visiting, there is, for me, something missig.
No longer do I feel comfortable suggesting turning FF off for an evening, or just using a map for a jeep race, I have to be careful what I say on Teamspeak as I often have to bite my lip in fear of getting a backdraft of abuse from certain people because all they want to do is play a serious game every night.
Playing Rogue Spear with a few people from XDC recently has reminded me of the fun we used to have, the serious part was trying to kill someone, the funny part was talking about it, or generally taking the piss out of each other, it was never taken seriously as XDC was all about having fun, a laugh with your mates, whatever. With BF ’42 it was the same, there was usually something interesting worth doing every night, if the mood took us we would lock down the server and do something funny, or try something that was orht a giggle. Since BF2 has come the standad of gaming may have increased (I personally was happy in the XDC level of ineptness, it was almost something to be proud of!) but the server is ruled by a handful of people who’s every whim is catered for, they get what they awnt every night. I will not be so callous as to name people here as I have no intention for this to be a slagging match.
Whilst I enjoy serious gaming for the majority of the time I am comig to the understanding that if a community night was planned, or if XDC shut it’s door for an evening to mess around, people would not show up, or would come on to TS and leave once they found out the server wasn’t ranked. I gain no friends in saying this, neither was my intention with the poll to get rid of 1stBW, it was an opinion that I thought I’d share with you regarding my (and some others) feelings, both towards XDC and 1stBW.
This is my opinion and I know that people here already think of me as a whiner and don’t paticularly like me, I have certainly rubbed people up the wrong way in the past, and for those times I have been in the wrong I have apologised, both by PM and on the board, but I do feel as though I am becoming more of a stranger here than ever before because I air my opinion, something I hoped would not affect the way member of XDC would view me, as I was under the impression that having different opinion and discussing them were the sensible and generally accpted adult way of life, something which rang true in the ethos of XDC for me. Maybe I am wrong, maybe I have changed, or maybe XDC has changed, but every day I see a widening gap between me and my internet home for the past years.
aparently at the time of the auction he had a 100% feedback, although it was from someone who had tpractically the same name as him!
Let me get some things straight, I wasn’t suggesting not telling them, I was suggesti that we tell them that it would be nice to not play with them for a week, they are regulars which is fine, but every night for at least the past month if not longer has meant that the games have all got stale, it’s the same people every night, the same type of game every night and added to the fact that they have driven people from XDC of the server then whats wrong with them finding somewhere else for a week, I’m sure they must be aware that they play on our server every night and that some people don’t like them every night. Personally I feel it is sometimes a 1stBW server as they are on for longer than XDC peeps. They are also taking liberties IMHO, demanding people be kicked. If it comes down to it I will beleive them if they saay someone has tked them, but it doesn’t mean I’m going to kick someone for a first offence, I normally warn before I kick, fairest on everyone, but that should be the admins decision, by asking for someone to be kicked they are forcing the admins hand, not cool.
I can see some of XDC, people I have known for years, stop playing BF2 because of this and TBH I think XDC comes before 1stBW, but I might be wrong, either way they are splitting opinion, both in recruitment terms and in their attitude towards the game, I dont see them as a helpful influence, as they are on every night.
Feck it, I am stressed with finals at the moment, the times I jump on the server I wnt to escape and enjoy myself, something that is hard to do when it becomes spawn die spawn die at the hands of the same people every night, the times I have really enjoyed myself are the times late at night when I have been able to avoid abuse about turning FF off and just pissing around with the couple of peeps still on the server, likes Turks, the rest of the time it’s full on serious play. Not a bad thing some might say, but it’s been the same eve since the medals and stats came out for the game. For those of you that don’t remember BF42, we used to have FUN because we didn’t have to worry about stats, and there are far too many people who are obssesed with stats and they seem to get priority over what happens on the server.

It’s not banning them, it just for a week, like a grounding. When more than two people stop plaing BF2 because of theses guys I think it’s serious. As I am aware I am making no friends with these posts it’s because I see that the server and XDC are moving away from the original idea of XDC, and I see it everyday in posts, on TS and on the server. Playing a seious game is ok but almost every game is identical, deadly serious and normally deathly quite for long periods on TS, there is barely any laughter on TS.
I know I rub people up the wrong way, but don’t get me wrong, the games are good fun still, it’s just the same thing over and over and over again, it’s the same with having a community noght (I hate that phrase) once EVERY SO OFTEN.
Maybe I’m out of line here but I know I’m not the only one having these feelings, I’m just the only one who will put it into writing and face the savage crowds.

LOL, no offence but I tend not to give my details out to people called manslaughter! Suffice to say I’m finishing of Uni as a mature student, last exam thursday!
