I live in Keele, drove through Stone th other day, never been to Stafford though. God Stoke is depressing. There is nothing to do here, everything closes down at about 9 p.m. and I would come online and play games, but I can’t!

God Damn he pisses me off. He’s starting it again in a seperate thread and I keep getting drawn into it, I refuse to tell him to fuck off, I think I shall ignore all his posts from now on. I have noticed on some boards that you can ignore posts from certain people, any chance of that here? Although with my track record I’d probably be ignored by everyone.

BtW n0m et al who I was arguing with before about Vent, apologies, going through a tough time at the mo with housemates and stuff, still no excuse I know, but you know me, I’m always borderline twat on here.

Then the silence on other matters means you agree with them, because you’re clearly not disagreeing?

Erm, I fear you have once again fallen off your bike and hit your head, Magiker replied to the point you contradicted him on, he wasn’t discussing memory allocation. What he says he CAN and HAS backed up with hard evidence from a trusted site, you once again post a load of bollocks.

Personally if I were you I’d take a hint, we all think you are full of shit, not because you are wrong, but because of your staunch belief that you can never be wrong and refuse to accept anyone elses side of the argument AND the fact that more often than not you are wrong.

Gotta say, for the year I was on Cable, never had a problem with it, think it cut out once for about 15 minutes, but I can put that down to acceptable maintenance disruption, got full speeds almost 24/7 as well. great stuff!

Mmmmm indeed, that photo reminds me of the time I shagged my bird of the moment in the ladies loo at Diggers Grill in Pretorai, she too was a peach

Where’s that so I can avoid it next time I go! Don’t want to go anywhere some aussie bloke has been shagging fruit in the toilets, that’s right top of my list of reasons to avoid places to eat.

LOL, thaks for the replies guys, I had to get out of the house so went away for the weekend. Here’s the deal. I moved down to Keele to start a course to lead onto a PGCE, and as I started this course in January I didn’t have that much choice in student houses. I was “lucky” to find this one. £65 a week, bills included and I spoke to the people before I moved in and they seemed ok. What has transpired since is no major arguments, I have been the model housemate, lending them text books, doing their washing up, keeping the communal areas of the house clean etc.

One of them is awesome, she is friendly, will take time out of her day to say hi, talk to me whilst cooking, play Playstation, etc. The other two are a couple who live in the two largest rooms of the house (I have a box room which is very much a tiny tiny room). The first thing to get on my goat is that it turns out that despite not sleeping in her room, the young lady deems herself important enough to have a larger room than me, first come first served you might say, until you learn I am paying £5 a week more than anyone else, yet still I have the smallest room (let’s face it, it’s still a bargain at that price!). ANyway, the internet was a problem, we didn’t have any, no ones fault except Sky’s (they never bothered to fix a problem with the exchange which Virgin were more than happy to chase up with for the new customers!) and eventually the landlord took out the internet (8 meg ADSL) in his name. For some bizarre reason the modem and router have been situated in the guys room (to clarify, not the landlord, just a tenant) and that’s where the problem really starts.

First off their reason they don’t want to open (forward) any ports is that they don’t want to take a risk with a virus or other such crap, and if that is what the firewall has been set up as on the router then that is what they will leave it as. Secondly they have the audacity to say to me that I am here to work, and that is all they use the internet for, therefore that is all I should use the internet for. Thirdly they scoff at me relaxing by playing online games (Sam -“I don’t have time to relax, I would lovce to take a holiday, but I can’t, I have too much work to do, that’s just the way it is” me – “but at least if you do your work and have the time you CAN take a holiday, I’m not allowed too relax how I want?” Sam – “no”).

My beef here is that I pay equal amounts for the internet, I should be allowed to use it exactly how I want too. Their opinion is that I pay equal amounts for the internet, therefore I should use exactly what they use it for to remain fair. Personally I have had enough, I would dearly love to move out, but I really don’t know where I would find a house right now, at this juncture, which would last for the next few months (when I am moving again!).

They have managed to make me feel distnctly unwelcome in my own house, I have recently found out that part of the reason that the first girl moved out (the one I took over from) was because they sustained a war of terror on her, by playing trance music realy loud to annoy her, etc. Apparently she was a bit if a bitch herself, but that doesn’t justify it. I am at a loss as to what to do.

it’s a netgear DG834GT and they won’t give me access to it, they won’t give me the network password, no they have to type it in to let me have access. In other words they have complete control over the network.

mug – still at uni doing a postgrad course

turks – I couldn’t live naked or without doing my washing up, I normall do everyones, but they never do anyone elses, also the other girl living here is sound as!

It’s a netgear router which they got for sky broadband that never got activated. They have flashed it so it works with other ISPs.

anyone know how I can block all traffic to their local IP addresses? ie 192.168.0.4 etc?

they won’t even do port forwarding because it might be a security risk, and because the internet works fine for what they want to do the don’t want to change it. They even had the audacity to say “Well you’re here to work, what do you need to play games for?” Fuck that, I am here to work, and I organise my time so I have some free time to relax in the evenings, and they refuse to allow me to relax in the way that I want and pay for.
