ok, closed down origin (should I also log out?) and closed down the browser. how do I get origin to open a new browser window?

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD WHY CAN’T THIS SIMPLE APPLET RUN OK? ALL I WANT TO DO IS HAVE A GAME OF BF4 TO CHILL OUT AT THE END OF A MANIC WEEK.
I’VE TRIED NUMEROUS TIME TO DOWNLOAD THE DAMN THING AND RUN IT YET IT SHOWS THE PROGRESS BAR RUN GREEN UP TO 100% AND THEN NOTHING; NADA;ZILCH! NO INSTRUCTIONS ON WHAT TO DO NEXT AND WHEN I TRY AND ENTER A GAME IT TELLS ME TO UPDATE MY PLUGIN.
I’VE TRIED YOU WORTHLESS TECHINCAL PIECE OF PARALYSED PISS! I’VE TRIED AND TRIED AND TRIED.
sorry for the rant but this is just plain nuts. I’m off out for a beer and some grub, i’m beaten……….for now 😈
I’ve managed to get it working somehow. Going to rather foolishly do a restart and see what happens!
went to refresh the pc so would lose any apps installed and it can’t do it as it says “the drive where windows is installed is locked, unlock the drive and try again.
FFS!!!
why oh why did i think it would be as simple as just clicking on update and it would actually do an update.
looks like my only option may be to reinstall windows.
Cheers doc, that’s what i’m currently doing now. It gave me the option to repair the install but that would mean it deleting any “apps” i’ve installed from disc or websites so i assume my BF games would all have to be re-installed. I’ve now looked at the option of doing a system restore to an earlier time so wonder if that’s the way to go.
As much as i prefer pc’s for gaming in two years of updates i never had this problem with a mac! I guess somethings APPLE just do better.
just spent the last hour or so in the test range. I’m glad to finally see it appear in a BF game as it’s long overdue. No more faffing around on empty servers to configure heli/jet controls now I just pop into the test range and can mess around to my hearts content.
The only issue I seem to be having with controls is the freelook. I have a Saitek stick which has the hat control on top which actually works for freelook except when looking up and then it brings up a battlelog type screen which I can’t seem to disable. I’ve gone through all the controls of each class; be it jets, vehicles, soldiers and helis but can’t fathom out what button brings up that screen or why the joystick hat toggle is bound to it!
just had an idea, maybe disabling battlelog in the game may help………….will try now 🙂

It works. disabled battlelog in game and now the hat control works ok for all views.
Wtf! You can all play yet I can’t get it activated 🙁
Going to try again in a while and see what happens. My plan of action: log out of origin, activate the vpn, log into origin and press the past button on bf4.this should bring up battlelog where I can then select a server to pay on. Is it at this point I disconnect from the vpn and just choose my server?
That’s exactly how I was doing the other night but kept getting the error message regards my account!

I’ll try that again later though am sure I tried last night with no luck. Having read what occa wrote I’m now worrying that someone has managed to get my key, if that’s the case then come Friday I will have shitloads of aggro trying to get the game to run.

If you do use a VPN to gain access make sure you change your password immediately after you have unlocked the content and disconnected from it.
