WeT hopes a BF3 is being planned 😉
XDC wild egg tamerParticipantdeep breath has been taken and in no way am i having a pop at Andy………i shall just read slower than usual and meditate whilst the counter ticks off my viewing time……….

XDC wild egg tamerParticipanterrrr, its set on Earth and errrr, they ain’t plasma guns as far as i know…..and i believe some of the guns in BF2 have those new-fangled things called sights!
come on turks, you know you want to play it really 😉
XDC wild egg tamerParticipantmyself and CC have been hanging around the irc but to no avail! No one seems really interested in using it so i guess its not worth the effort of getting L-bot back, tis a shame as its a great proggie to chat and organise stuff without the confused muffle you sometimes get with Teamspeak.
alas……IRC-RIP

XDC wild egg tamerParticipantindeed.
XDC wild egg tamerParticipanti think i sorted mine out by going into the config file for the controls and messing about in there…………not much help but may give you an idea.
XDC wild egg tamerParticipanterrr, who mentioned anything about the BNP ?
People have their views and i suspect they have the intelligence to form those views without being influenced by “political parties” like the BNP or sensationalist headlines in a redtop newspaper.
I consider myself intelligent enough to form an opinion on what i consider to be an important topic without having to be told what my opinion should be by the Daily Mail or some numpty political party.
The fact that the BNP is gaining popularity should be of more concern; it should hi-light what is inherently wrong with our current parties and their manifesto’s, a point to consider is the New conservative leader, David Cameron. “vote Blue, go Green” is the current slogan with the tory party yet David Cameron cycles to work but has a car following him with all his documents; i understand he was given the option of buying a toyota prius but instead opted for a lexus! Its again a case of do as i say, not as i do! It’s ok for the Home secretary to fuck up with all these released prisoners, he can keep his job and sweep it under the carpet yet if you or i make a cock-up at work, we pay the price.
The BNP are cashing in on the incompetence of the political parties to really be in tune with how people are feeling………its not an ideal situation to be in but with the current goverment doing what they like and the opposition so far removed from reality its no wonder they could possibly gain a foothold! like yourself wolf, i really hope not!.XDC wild egg tamerParticipantYeah – we are just chucking them out of prisone arent we? Oh… wait… we actually have more people in prison per capita than ANY other country in Europe.
I dont dispute that doc but we could probably free up some space in these prisons if we stopped locking up people because they haven’t paid their council tax or TV licence! It seems that if a crime involves taking money from the Goverment then its a free for all! Why is someone like Ronnie biggs locked up in a high security prison when people who commited far more serious crimes are banged up in a lower category prison ? it doesn’t make sense! I don’t condone what Biggs done, he committed a crime, done a runner and stuck 2 fingers up to the police/goverment here and he deserves to do time but i would bet he will probably spend longer inside if he lives than someone who’s knocked an old lady over the head or raped a young girl!
It just ain’t right!!
Ok, lets not have a death sentence…well no chance of that anyhow, this wonderful goverment we have made sure we can never vote on that, but at least have some serious reforms with regards sentencing and time served.
All we seem to be getting is the de-criminalisation of crimes!! case in point, someone goes out, gets drunk and then damages a vehicle by breaking a window or pulling off its wing mirror……..that would have been classed as drunk and disorderly and possibly something like damage with intent, now its just a penalty charge notice, £50 fine and off you go! That now pushes the crime committed above into the same catagory as parking on a yellow line or driving down a bus lane…no wonder crime figures show a decrease in crimes committed where in effect its just a neat little trick with figures and statistics.I’m sure there is many good stories of guys gone bad, do stir come out and make a real contribution to society, John Mcvicar is a possible example but that doesn’t remove the fact that MURDERERS and PAEDOPHILES are being released into society and sometimes re-offending……ok, you can argue they’ve done their time and are “rehabillitated”, personally i’d sleep better at night knowing that decent society is being given every chance by keeping that person in jail……he’s a different person to what he was 20 years ago! .good! be a role model for any young offenders who get thrown in for their first petty offence, perhaps then they may make a contribution to society by paying their dues…..teach the young offenders that the path they have chosen can only lead them one way……….
I’m off to finish the garden, be back to see the flame war hot up shortly…… 😉

This provides inmates an incentive to be good (obviously) during the sentence. The guys done a crime, why give him incentives to be good ? Give him some proper hard time and the incentive that if he steps out of line, his time is going to be increased!
Sorry turks, i can’t get on with being too liberal with criminals, give them whatever councilling is felt may be needed…fine! they have mental problems drug addicitions etc but no way should they be given a reduced term for being good!!! Thats the idea of jail………you go in, you serve a sentence, if you have a bit of nouce you realise that it ain’t a pretty place hence you behave how society should behave and you don’t do any more stir!
What happens to the victims of these people ? They were being good upright citizens and they got punished! By releasing the perpertrator early, your in effect punishing the victim……..
Your idea of voluntary euthanasia is ok, but that would only work if the sentence was akin to death……by that i mean that one would not choose to die if he knew that he only had to serve 15 or 20 years and would then be released, if however he knew that he was never coming out and that he faced 40 or 50 years inside of real hard time, not stiching pillow cases together or whatever they do but i’m talking real hard time; limited luxuries, chain gang type work….whatever it would be (i’m sure the more imaginatve amongst us could think of a few things) then perhaps the idea would have some real merit.
XDC wild egg tamerParticipantgood points doc but i’m not so sure about it being tabloid hysteria………
Its getting to the point now doc where that wonderful labour mantra of “tough on crime, tough on the causes of crime” is just a bi-line for tabloid editors to pen to yet another story where the system has failed people.
Take the John Monckton case last year; a financier living in Chelsea, working hard and reaping the rewards yet in just a few minutes his life was wiped out by murdering scum who seemed to think they had the divine right to whatever he had worked hard for. The guy who stabbed him had been released early from a 12 year stretch for attempted murder, this following numerous other prison sentences….to quote from the telegraph website:-
In July 1995, at the age of 14, he burgled a home when the owners were asleep. He entered a defence of alibi but was convicted of burglary. That October he robbed a 17-year-old youth of £20 at knifepoint, stabbing and kicking him. Again he said he was not there but again he was convicted: of wounding.
In June 1996, at the age of 15, he admitted attempted burglary after first denying it.
In August the following year, when he was 16, he was involved with another man in robbing a youth of a Rolex watch. They had a gun and a butcher’s knife.
When the victim tried to escape, the other man shot him three times. Hanson said he had been elsewhere with friends but was found guilty of attempted murder and robbery and jailed for 12 years.
Now, tell me where rehabilitation got this guy ? All the system done was fail him and fail any future victims. If we follow the humanist line and allow these people their right to life then surely we need to counter that argument by enforcing prison sentences, ie, life means life………no parole, no out on licence for good behaviour…..you’ve done the crime so in effect you’ve signed your rights away!
Sadly, the Monckton case is not an isolated incident, there’s the story recently of a guy who had been locked up for the murder of his girlfriend in 1985, was then released and went on to rape a 10 year old boy!!
Things need to change; we need competent politicians, a competent judicial system and less pandering to the rights of criminals……..if a guy gets a 10 stretch, he does a 10 stretch; if he gets life he comes out in a wooden box, not after serving 10-15 years.
Errr, don’t think i have seen dead man walking…….you may need to post a review 😀
