Yeah, sucks. I contact the vendor in the first instance and they said initially that since it was more than 12 months old, I need to contact the manufacturer. It still works to an extent, it’s the most bizarre error I’ve ever seen. I switch the machine on and when I try to log into windows, it crashes. I do a hard reset and when I get to the windows login screen, I can log in fine. Then When I run my first game, it crashes. A hard reset will let me then boot into windows and then play a game. As long as I keep the PC switched on, it will never crash again. I would keep the PC on but the bloody PSU is like a hair dryer so I’d rather not. Just need to suck it up and live with it til I can purchase a shiny 5970
I’ll be there blacky, not had much chance for gaming on PC recently but I’ve been suffering withdrawel symtoms when playing other games, trying to spot people in MW2 etc.
I hope it’s not WWII, to be honest, I’m all WWII’d out. I think I’ve played so many games based in that time period I’m not sure I could stomache another unless it was exceptional. If it’s just an updated map and graphics pack with the same gameplay/engine as BFBC2, I can’t see it being good enough to warrent buying.
Although knowing what I’m like I probably will, if not just so I can moan about it.
The game doesn’t seem anything like the lego/indiana jones/batman/harry potter games. It’s an MMO where pick a class, such as dps, tank etc and form groups to kill bosses. You pick up blocks along the way that you can use to built contraptions to assist you. You can build a car for example and take part in races each week for prizes. You can build a castle for your guild if you all club together. The game genuinely looks like good fun.
I’ll play it a fair bit over the weekend but there are a number of vids on youtube that explain it pretty well, I’m really looking forward to giving it a bash.

I have a high end PC also, but still have to fiddle with the gfx to get a game to look sexy, I used to use it for games alot, but as a techie I use it for other wonderful things also so theres no loss with it, mainly streaming .mkv/x264 movies to my PS3 downstairs 🙂 Super
p.s you Have to pay to play any kind of game on PS3, on 360 you get trials and thank fuck you do as alot I wouldnt pay for.. annd PS3 are strarting to charge to play online now also, I believe it will hit the PC in the future also, IW are rumoured to be charging a subscription for its future games like COD etc.. wont be long before others try the same shit

Also, Insane, take what I’m saying in jest. I am an asshole wind up merchant who can’t help himself faaaaar to often. I obviously don’t think consoles are that shit since I have all 3, re-read my post and it seemed pretty “dickish” a subject in which I specialise 🙂

People moaning about having to pay to play on an Xbox bores me and its flawed, I guarantee I have spent nothing like what a PC user pays to play online, I paid best part of £200 for console, game and Xbox Live.. now put that against the £350 I paid for a single GFX card.. and well thats all I have to say, I’ve not even touched the case, CPU, Motherboard, Game, Memory, peripherals, HDD, Coolers, Monitor etc etc etc which I will have to upgrade in a year so it will play the next best game that comes out, I’m older and past wasting money I dont really have buying upgrade after upgrade after upgrade like I used too, Thats more than likely why online gaming on PC is probably free to play, and if you think about it, its not really free if your paying to play on an XDC server, to which I did in the past and you probably do now, that was a tenner a month to be exact along with other members, now that works out at .. £120 a year to play a game online, thats ONE game only I might add.. and I’m sure you have to pay to play EVE and WOW.. not that I ever have so could be wrong
So I’m not accepting any lame argument about having to pay £40 a year to game online considering the above 🙂
It is just another long line of reasons why the 360 is shit. Whilst the Xbox live service is a good service, it’s not worth paying for. If the Xbox had similar functions as the PS3 for example (built in wireless from the start, free online services etc) then I would agree that the Xbox is the best console. Obviously, if you have spend £350 on a gfx card, you have some machine on your hands. I spent a similar amount on a graphics card 2 years ago and there is not a single game out that I can’t play on full graphics, with no slowdown, so that upgrade every year crap only applies if you spend the bare minimum on components every time. It is a much better machine, in every sense. It is so flexible, you can do anything on it. Surf the net in a proper browser, do graphics design, 3d modeling, program in any number of languages, burn CD/DVD/Blueray, Store terrabytes of media data, Run virual servers, literally anything. All you can do on an Xbox 360 is play games and chat to friends. So if we’re looking at value for money, a high power PC wins again. If you only use the PC for gaming, then perhaps you would be better with a console. There is truly no comparrison between a console and a PC. Regarding wireless, you are correct, my PC is fully wired, for the xbox, it doesn’t matter. As they are shit.
To sum up my coherant and balanced argument, the XBOX 360 is shit.

I’ve not played with lego in a good 4 months now… I’m aff it.
edit. Forgot the most important point there, XBOXs are shit. To get it to interact with my wireles NW, I needed to spend £50 on a microsoft branded component that cost less than £2 to make. The PS3 and Wii come with these built in. Also, why should you have to pay to play your games online? They are shit.
I dissed the 360. I do have a very compelling reason for doing so however, not because they are childish, but because they are shit.
On with more pressing business, I too have a beta key so I’m looking forward to playing it in a few weeks when I actually get a spare second to myself. I have signed up under multiple e-mail address so if I get another I will post it here and someone else can give it a blast if they want.
I loved lego as a kid and the game actually looks like good fun, I hope it plays as well as they have talked it up.
I have a top quality Asda camera that is a collosal 5 megapixel. Some of the shots that it takes are sometimes not even a little bit blurry. I comes complete with a photo printer that I have never used and a little felt carry pouch.

Yeah, I fair enjoyed it last night. I struggled to grasp what was going on, I think I need to play it from the begining instead of jumping in halfway through a campaign. Enjoyed it though, pretty good.
