I liked it. Not brilliant, but at the same time certainly not bad at all. Apparently most of it was filmed in the Isle of Wight. Nothing special, but an enjoyable film with a pretty interesting cast of characters.

Yes Neon Get yerself some Cod as its good for the blood apparently and high in omega3

Wait a minute… By Cod do you mean the fish, or the abbreviated name for Call of Duty? Now I’m all confused. I’ll go ask my local fishmonger which FPS he recommends.

Hope you have a Good Xmas and a Better Year Next Year.

Cheers Paul, I reckon we will. The money situation’s looking much better, and the wife’s much happier than she was this time last year. Now all I gotta do is sort out my job prospects…

Incidentally I had a go at COD4 over at my sisters on their PS3 and 40″ widescreen telly. Blimey! That was pretty awesome. I’ll get a copy, but I’ll need to soup up the PC after the GFX card took a nose-dive.

Watching the trailer for this I got the impression that it was either going to be brilliant or absolute pants. Glad that it sounds good though as it makes a change for a British production to be half-decent.

The production was based around the assumption that World of Leather and Carpet World’s industrial espionage escalated into a full blown war. The tag line was “A world of leather, or a world of carpet: No compromise.”

Naaah. It was Jeff Wayne’s: War of the Worlds and it was awesome. It was almost exactly like the original album, but souped up with a full orchestra, video walls, holograms and lasers. It was like they’d taken all of the pictures that came with the album booklet and extrapolated them into a truely epic scale. They had the Thunderchild facing off against a dozen tripods and all kinds of crazy shit.

The production earned itself a rating of ‘awesome’, beating previous shows like Queens musical We Will Rock You’s ‘brilliant’ and Rod Stewarts Tonight’s the Night’s ‘utter shit’.

I’ll hopefully be back in the new year too, in some kind of capacity. It’s been a pretty bad year for the wife and I, what with our money situation and what with her family being ‘tards of the highest order. I’m not sure if I’ll get back into FPS gaming though as it got me too wound up.

Does anyone know if there’s any games along the lines of ‘Stamp Collector Simulator’ or ‘Having a Nice Cup of Tea: Xtreme’ coming out soon? I reackon they’ll be ideal for keeping the old blood pressure down.

This film has earned itself a rating of ‘corker’, as in; “My, what an absolute corker.” Although I must say that I’d kind of worked out what was going on after he gave David Bowie his hat, and ‘cos I saw a Canadian cartoon as a kid with a similar premise (seriously I did). I thought the way the story was told was very good and couldn’t fault the direction (well done Mr Nolan, again).

And this is the kind of film that you can watch with your wife.

Again, this film is rated ‘corker’.

Tess, I’m not medically trained, but I reckon if I was lecturer dealing with these kind of studies I’d be darned impressed if one of my potential students turned up with some kind of human/insect hybrid. My advice is try and get hold of one of these:

Bang! Straight to the top of the class!

I guess I’m missing the point here. Are you saying that box 2 will always be empty if you choose it?

But like I say then it’s purely logical and if it’s simply logic then it’s not a question, but a statement. Obviously the question regarding the boxes depends on what you get out of it. To us money is a commodity we recognise and value therefore we are driven by our need to obtain it (or at least for the purposes of this question).

If what was being offered made next to no difference to you then people would answer differently. For example:

Box A contains a T Shirt for an AIDS sufferer
Box B might (or might not) contain a cure

One offers something practically worthless, but the other offers something unobtainable. If what’s in box A is of no interest to you then you are taking it simply because you can then you are motivated by a need to own things regardless of what they are.

My point is that the question is a logical one that has to be interpreted by the motivations and the circumstances of the individual. If the amount in box A was changed to £5 and box B might or might not contain £50000 then I guess the people on this forum might be more inclined to take a chance. Logically they should choose £5 but would that make much of a difference in their lives if they won or lost it? But most would probably take a 50/50 chance to get £50000.

Except Pharty who probably spent that on gin this morning.

The argument is neon…. it doesent matter what is in the box – antidotes or whatever… there IS NO GAMBLE involved, If you are standing in front of the 2 boxes – take both! Doing so you might save yourself and wife…. you might save the whole family who knows? All I know for sure is… you aint going to help matters by taking box 2. Just taking box 2 only will mean that you might save your whole family… but there is a slight chance you wont…. but without any advantage to yourself.

Sure, but then that’s looking at the problem in a purely logical way. Logically taking both is the correct answer since you are guarenteed to gain something. But humans are not motivated purely by logic (which is something a supreme being would have to take into account).

What I’m saying is that people will give a different answer to the question you asked regarding the money, to the question I asked regarding their families, even though logically they should take both boxes since it’s no longer about what they gain but what they lose.
