Dunno m8 but I’ve been thinking about how things are with XDC at the moment and I’m a little worried. A couple of changes – the locking down of the forums and the change in the server setup – seem to have isolated us. I know we are all probably feeling fine and dandy at the moment but we used to rely on the forum and server regulars to bring in new blood. As far as I’m aware there is no-one currently in the frame (or likely to be) as a potential new member.

With regard to the forums – since we locked down has anyone registered and gone on to post? This seems to be a barrier to new recruits. Can’t we open up again and sod Legit?

The servers – rebranding the 2142 server severely cut down the number of people playing and the flood of new games seems to have killed it off altogether. Having said that none of the new XDC servers seem to be getting any regular business. Our CoD4 servers seem to remain empty (incl the ranked) most of the time and even when a few XDC populate it no one else joins. The TF2 server seems to get some trade but I rarely see any XDC on it at the same time. We seem to have been spread quite thinly with the number of playable games out at the moment – which is great from one point of view in that everyone will find a game they like playing – but it seems to have reduced our presence on the gaming “scene” (ooh err sailor).

Thoughts please?

Panic joined the forums, not?

What I feel is a bit peculiar is we have added quite a few members (before and after I was invited) who, after initially showing up on a frequent basis, all seem to disappear for whatever reason. Of course you can not force people to play, however it would be good to understand why they have gone awol.

Re. the servers, this is beyond me as well: I believe we put up a good selection but at the moment we deffo don’t need reserved slots for members.
I can see BF2142 being a bit less popular across the board, not only with XDC. But I would have expected the COD ranked server to become as popular as the other ones we frequently play.
As far as the diehard COD-serve, that’s only for a selected group of fans, like RO. Don’t see why we have to keep it up if it isn’t used

1) as soon as phart tells me the details for the new server the forums will be swapped and open

2) did the ip address and port of the 2142 server change recently? i think this is why it is dead all of a sudden – what regulars we have look at their fav list and all they see if a red ip address

3) i was looking at clan forge the last few nights and nearly all 4 of our brand new sexy servers are empty.. not exactly a good return on our collective investment – are we spreading the word – are we telling other clans about the servers and what s on offer?

4) xdc has always been characterised by a constant flow of new blood some of which become the xdc backbone and some just drift away. i cant remember the last time i saw a recruitment thread.

5) we cant agree on a clan game and have pockets of 3/4 people playing all sorts.

..cant find 2142 server for some reason.. whats it been rebranded to?.. sometimes try TF2 but usually empty. Aint got the guts to try CoD4 MP yet!.. but will soon!

Well i’m convinced that the numbers are down because i haven’t been active 😀 .After the new year i will get my crappy broadband back 😆 .I don’t really think it’s the games that keep this clan going.It’s people that like to hear me bitch and moan 😉

A FH2 server may be worth trying, i’ve had a mess around with the mod and its not a bad first release, seems stable and the maps are good, once the other theatres are released i can see there being a fair bit of life in the mod for some time to come.

A lot of the old names don’t seem to be around much at the mo, i’ve not seen or heard from DMC12 for a long time, sebgros just seemed to vanish and the old names like milo pop in from time to time…heck we even had digit show up a while back and stanTM show his face again.

Perhaps we need to work the way RIP does, the heirarchy “ORDERS” the troops to d/l FH2 and play it!! 😉
