Noooooooooo don’t have voice activation on!! Its just not the done thing! It causes all sorts of problems (mainly for everyone else on TS) – feedback from your speakers/headphones mainly, tv/music, snoring (eh Justice 😉 ). Trust me.
Heh. Wipers speaketh the truth. There’s nothing worse than hearing someone chatting with their kids for 5 minutes in the middle of a heated battle. I find it destroys the atmosphere:
“I need a Medic!”
“Enemy Gunship!”
“Supply drop your area!”

£500 is a lot of cash for a console, particularly one that supplies strange looking beds for really lazy people to play on. I would seriously wait, or cancel the order. I think a price drop is pretty imminent.

Can’t quite remember what I said but I was thinking along the lines of someone with the ability to stop people asking me bloody stupid question…I didn’t get the job but it’s all political. Then you’ll need a graphics card, Hard Drive and an optical drive of some sort. It might work out slightly more expensive than the one from overclockers, but it’ll be far more upgradeable(i.e. the CPU I chose is the a cheap single core one, you could by a dual core chip in a years time). The ArmA demo was buggy and laggy. The released game is much better and they seem to have optimised the performance of the engine. Still needs a beast of a machine to get the most out of it though.

By all means unlock the engineer stuff, but unless it’s the shotgun I’d give the support gun a miss. TBH, the Ganz is a bit pants, unless you’re blasting away at a console or the Titan core, but only then.
Now the AV rifle (Pilum) is where it’s at…

Well I did have a spicy pizza, but I didn’t feel that bad.
To be honest we were just playing around with the game to try and work out its limitattions, so we just stuck to the single missions and the mission editor. My mate was saving the campaign game for when he had a spare afternoon and a few beers to fuel him on.
Graphically I can’t really fault the game as I think it’s meant to be a simulator rather than a eye-candy experience. Really, it’s just a product improved version of OFP, which I can see still being installed on my HD in about 4 years time.
We need to see how this goes, because if it proves popular, we will need to rethink the server setup. Either RO or BF may need to make room……..and as I think both games suck, I am indifferent as to which one goes…………..
Whoa there buckaroo! Whilst I think a ArmA is going to be much more of an XDC type game, I wouldn’t change things just yet. I know that a lot of us won’t have machines capable of running the game at a decent setting at the moment.

Maps look good, but the unlocks are a bit lame (although having 4 shots for the herzog might make it useful).
Personally I think they should be aiming to make the booster packs enhance the game for those who buy them, rather than alienating those who don’t. Give the maps out in a patch and then add stuff like new classes, extra unlocks, and special vehicle enhancements. That way, everyone can play the new maps, and anyone who chooses to buy the booster gets a few benefits too.

Wait a minute, that’s me! Let me know if you need any help getting the job Pharty (you know, threats to PA’s HR department and the like). They’re on the floor below me, so if you like I can swing in SAS style with some grenades and an MP5. I don’t think that’d help, but it’d be fun.
