ParticipantUsing that word isn’t racist. Using a word can’t make you anymore racist than using a word can make you a humanitarian. Saying “Hey everyone, I celebrate diversity!” does not make you a friend to all races and cultures, anymore than me saying “yeah sweetheart, I’ll take the rubbish out” actually gets the rubbish taken out.
Here’s an old fashioned concept; Don’t judge a man by what he says, judge him by what he does.
Calling a black person the N word is rude, stupid and ignorant. Just as calling a black person the C word is. Both words are being used to insult or anger the person it’s targetted at. The question is really WHY you’re trying to hurt or upset that person. Is it because of the colour of their skin, their gender, sexuality or religion? Or is it because that person is a complete twat and you’re trying to insult them?
If it’s the later then you’re not a racist, you’re just an arse and possibly so are they.
And bearing in mind that we’re living in a world where words now speak louder than actions, and seem to count for a hell of a lot more, I’ll leave you with this thought.
I love you all, and you’re all my best mates and I’ll name my first child after you.
(Bloody hell. What a nice thing for me to say? I must be the greatest person here!)

ParticipantAhhh patience young Lensman and WET (whom I believe are both older than me), as the others say, the knife is a fickle mistress. I’d practice on the single player game a bit, just to get the knack of slicing someone.
Erratic, Wipers, Max, Rono and Spunker are the real expert stabbers (although I’m sure there are others), and I mean that in more than one way.
Although I can certainly identify with the Wipers/Beer knife fight. Twice on Sunday I almost had that Deathcultitus fellow with my trusty blade, but each time he realised that by my third swipe I was trying to knife him. Queue LMG to the face…
What I mean by a fillet rather than a cut is that you need to aim for the widest part of their body. The knife kind of slashes across the target, rather than a straight stab, so by aiming for the thickest part you’ll have a greater chance of hitting. If you attack someone on the ground by jumping on them and hacking away, try to aim so that your knife slashes are parrallel to the ground, rather than perpendicular.

ParticipantMaybe Max has inadvertently stumbled onto a front for a terrorist organisation (or some extremist hacker’s hidden movie cache). Perhaps someone should alert Liveleak to what they’re hosting? They might not even know about it 😯

ParticipantDon’t worry about it too much Lensman, afterall you could be ‘a great stabber’ which would then just open the flood gates for a surge of sexual innuendo’s concerning bottom sex.
Another tip, if you’re lying on top of your potential knife victim, don’t slice down, slice across as if you’re filleting them like a fish, rather than to cut them in half. That means your knife will have a larger surface area to hit.
Also, use active cammo to sneak around behind enemy line and attack from the rear. You’d be surprised how effective that is for getting kills on an infantry map.

ParticipantI think your problem might be lag Lensman. That’s why sometimes some dude can stab you when he’s about 12 feet away and you can ram your blade into someone’s temple at zero feet and miss.. There’s a couple of handy ‘how to knife’ videos on Youtube you could check out, but they’re mostly just some nasal-sounding American kid saying things like ‘ownage’ and ‘pwn’ed’.
One technique I’ve found to be quite useful when attacking someone with a knife is to charge at them and then run past them, before spinning around to attack them. Seems to freak people out.
Also don’t forget that knives are one hit kill weapons, so even stabbing someone in the foot should kill them.

ParticipantThis post is rapidly becoming a sham. In fact, it’s a mockery of a sham.
When I expect to read the world’s shortest thread I expect it to be over, pretty blummin’ quickly. Who can I complain to this thread about? Bill gates?

ParticipantBah! It’s all lies I tells thee!
Besides, if I was going to act on any songs, it’d have to be anything by those be-chopped buffoons Slade.
Or should I say “SLOIDE!”

ParticipantGive this a try Mr Spunker:
http://www.overclockers.com.au/techstuff/a_coolbits/
Won’t make a massive ammount of difference, but might let you change a couple of settings from medium to high.
It’s an overclocking tool for Nvidia graphics cards, and it comes with an ‘optimal’ setting, whereby it automatically overclocks your card to the safest level. Although there’s always a chance something might go wrong, but a slight bit o’ tweaking shouldn’t do any harm.

ParticipantHiya Dodge,
Is that as in Dodge180?
We (as in ‘I’) started another thread about this thing called ‘aiming’. That was weeks ago, and since then I’ve gone from 16 to 20% accuracy. Here’s the thread:

And welcome to the forums

ParticipantYou fellows with AGP cards (like me) would really be flogging a dead horse getting another AGP card (IMHO).
Here’s what I got for christmas:
Effectively it’s a motherboard that’ll support AGP and PCI E, also DDR and DDR2 (although obviously not at the same time). The reason I got this is because a) it’s cheap and b) it means that I can do a gradual upgrade when I’ve got some more money (2012 is my guess). Until then I can use my old 6600 AGP card and Corsair RAM in a faster PC than I currently have.
Ideally, if I had a few hundred quid burning a whole in my wallet I’d get the whole caboodle at the same time (GFX, RAM, Mobo, PSU and CPU), but I’ve got a wife and 3 mortgages to support these days, so for now I’ll settle for a packet of cable ties 😉

ParticipantOops.
I sense you’re gonna get flamed for that last comment.

ParticipantBrilliant!
You don’t need any stand up comedians with a guy like that around. Just set him off and stick a mic in front of him!

Not done much, but I had big problems with Pinnacle doing anything longer than a few minutes. Crashed each time it tried to render the final movie.
Pinnacle seems to have a problem with the size of the movies you can render. Anything above 540mb and I had the same problems you have. However, when used in conjunction with premiere it’s very good. You can use the Adobe software to patch together all the scenes you did in Pinnacle into the final movie.

ParticipantNice idea Lensman.
I don’t know who the guy was, but on the server last night there was some guy in the enemy gunship who kept trying to take out our titan guns for zero strategic benefit (we were capping silos whilst he shot at our guns). Anyhoo, I tell some dude at a nearby silo to jump in the AA battery and take out Mr Gunship.
As soon as he starts taking fire from the ground Mr Gunship flies off in the direction of the AA guns and then attempts a loop. At the pinnacle of the loop he gets an EMP missile up his pipe and the gunship drops out of the sky, and Mr Gunship bails out, freefalls to about 10 feet and then opens his chute. At which point the gunship lands on his head.
I’m not putting this guy forward for the award, but it sure did make me laugh.

ParticipantI’ve made a few videos in my time and I thought that the software used by Pinnacle is pretty awesome, especially if you are trying to edit it along with music.
Adobe Premiere is great too, but I found that one better for adding effects, sounds and other audio tracks to an already completed movie.
