Dunno m8 but I’ve been thinking about how things are with XDC at the moment and I’m a little worried. A couple of changes – the locking down of the forums and the change in the server setup – seem to have isolated us. I know we are all probably feeling fine and dandy at the moment but we used to rely on the forum and server regulars to bring in new blood. As far as I’m aware there is no-one currently in the frame (or likely to be) as a potential new member.
With regard to the forums – since we locked down has anyone registered and gone on to post? This seems to be a barrier to new recruits. Can’t we open up again and sod Legit?
The servers – rebranding the 2142 server severely cut down the number of people playing and the flood of new games seems to have killed it off altogether. Having said that none of the new XDC servers seem to be getting any regular business. Our CoD4 servers seem to remain empty (incl the ranked) most of the time and even when a few XDC populate it no one else joins. The TF2 server seems to get some trade but I rarely see any XDC on it at the same time. We seem to have been spread quite thinly with the number of playable games out at the moment – which is great from one point of view in that everyone will find a game they like playing – but it seems to have reduced our presence on the gaming “scene” (ooh err sailor).
Thoughts please?
I’m still up for a game chaos, I’m sure fluff will be too. Monkey Gamers have a new 48 player dedicated server up now so I will be checking that out: IP is..

Im afraid the others are all chasing ranks and perks in COD4 😉 (Dodge – 3 star general – WTF???!! 😯 Hes gone and done a legit on us! only joking).
COD is fun at the moment – mainly because TS is a laugh with so many people playing – good craic – and COD is the kind of game you dip in and out of – no 45 minute rounds of Camp Gib here – which makes it less of a commitment than 2142. I’m not sure if it will go the distance though. Give it a couple of months till the twitch gamers have taken hold and the hacks are rife and it could be a different story. It could be a long wait till BF3 and like jonny says its a weird time – too many games trying to get everyone’s attention.
Pretty please Mike can you load up a ranked hardcore server?
Dont think we need to do anything to the existing servers – Im sure we had ranked and unranked COD servers running at the same time a couple of weeks ago.
Still playing it 😉 – mainly on the Monkey-Gamers squadplay server as ours isn’t getting much traffic at the moment. Fluff and signal are also keeping the flame alight. But I’m also playing CoD4 and enjoying it so the two games arent mutually exclusive. CoD is very different to BF so there’s room for both. CoDs great for grabbing a quick knockabout game, it looks awesome and its a laugh playing with a crowd of XDC again but I miss the squad teamplay, tactics, the big battles and the sense of achievement when you win in BF. CoD is fun on our server, but the publics are a bit too CS stylee for my liking. BF with CoD graphics is the way forward 😀
