    Thanks max, glad we’re on the same page. To clarify though, no iron sights in game, and no ADS except on certain long range options. Also the recoil looks non existent, so it’ll be a game of position point and click. Worked ok for rogue spear and BF42 was a bit like that, but I think we’re well past it now, and it’s too dumbed down for a modern day shooter. That said, aim assist was probably on, and there remain a few points to clarify re the ADS thing.

    Here’s my take on it from reddit, after a little consideration.

    OK so first of all, that trailer looks incredible! I felt a shiver down my spine when that snowspeeder flew between the AT-AT’s legs, awesome stuff 🙂 I’m much more optimistic about the title than after the previous trailer video.

    That said there’s still a lot more I’d like to know about how the multiplayer works. The respawn mechanics were not on display, and the objectives were not very clear in this mode. I also hope that is not the main arena on Hoth, because it looks incredibly open, with little cover around.

    The gunplay mechanics also look very simplistic, and similar to what we had in games about 15 years ago, but hey it worked then, and much of what was in the video was shown to dazzle rather than anything else. There doesn’t seem to be much recoil though, or any sort of bloom on the guns when hipfiring, but then again we are looking at a ps4 version so aim assist is probably on. The minimap also looks archaic.

    I’d like more information on how the vehicles spawn and are controlled. Also do we have classes in the game, or at least medics?

    Overall I’m excited though and can’t wait to find out more. My only concern is that the actual gameplay side of things looks too simplistic at this stage. It looks like a shooter from 2000 dressed up in 2015 clothes, although those clothes look outstanding.

    I still don’t see enough of these guys to really worry too much, but there’s certainly been a rise lately. It seems when they released H1Z1 a lot of hackers targeted the title and they drift over to PS2 now and again as well. In response DBG started banning a lot of players but seemed to be catching a lot of innocent ones as well as the hackers so it seems now that they are banning people manually and in waves. I haven’t seen anyone get to too high a BR yet, so the ban waves are fairly regular, but it is annoying.

    I think it’ll happen re the 0.75, but you’re right about the smg’s and shotguns, and also that it’s come from community tears. The only thing is that I don’t actually think .75 ads was really that significant in terms of the gun performance, although it does definitely aid a little in survivability at times. The good news though is that this makes switching between the other factions easier in the long run, the bad news is that VS LMGs are starting to look like the worst of the bunch.

    Before we panic though bear in mind that I tested this out on test this morning and I found that the Orion, SVA, and BG were all noticeably more accurate. There seems to be a lot less deviation from the overall recoil pattern, which is itself more or less a straight line up. The only problem is that I checked the TR and NC LMGs on test as well, and they also seem a lot more accurate…however, in running this test there was perhaps a factor interfering with the result as I had mouse acceleration ticked as “on” on PTS, and off on Live. The interesting thing though is that test felt all round more accurate, and it felt less accurate when I turned accel off. Kizz just tried reversing his options in game as well and found that he could snap aim better with it “on” as well, and I’ve just finished the first session in a long time where I didn’t feel like there was a problem with my mouse. It may be placebo, but the current theory is that a recent patch may have inverted the on off command, so that on is now actually off. This also fits very nicely with what I was observing recently, as I had out of the blue started overshooting targets, however I’ve not seen anything on reddit about this, and it’s been a few weeks since I “noticed”, so I do kind of doubt my findings.

    I missed this thread….All I can say is that the post seems like a Battlefront 2 fanboy disappointed that this game is being developed in the direction of BF3.

    Sure some of the concerns are valid, but on my give a fuck scale, even the worst issue imo (uncontrollable at-at’s) is at best a 5/10.

    Since I was on level caps channel today. Nothing too new, but there are a few new angles for some of previous footage released (that I’ve seen), and it doesn’t look as bad in places.

    Also clarifies some of the stuff re first and third person views (basically both are in it).

    From what I’ve seen from test and from people discussing them, I wouldn’t be surprised to see them delayed even longer. There are a couple of major issues, like the cloaking field cloaking enemies, but not friendly mines, turrets, the field going through buildings, and the fact lock on missiles can find a cloaked Sundy. Quite a few of those probably require some coding changes, rather than simple attribute changes such as adding the cloak itself.

    The problem they’ve had while developing for ps4 is that their coders are largely involved with that project, so manpower has to be prioritised. I think that the major point to take from that smedley update recently was that that dev cycle might well be coming to an end. Time will tell though.
