This is one I’ve been hearing good things about but as yet there’s been relatively little info to go on. A couple of trailers have come out of E3 though, and some of the early shots are breathtaking.

I think I’ll be planning my PC upgrade around this game, and I’m not even sure what gameplay will be like yet 🙂
This is one I’ve been keeping close tabs on too but to little information to get excited about this one just yet
My only worry about this is that there’s a slight chance that they’ll go for the 3rd person shooter option to appease fans of the original. If they do, I’ll not be interested, but it is DICE working on this now, and they will surely realise that FPS is the way to go.

I’m a massive Star wars geek, but I never even considered the original because it was 3rd person. I’m just hoping they make this an FPS, because otherwise it’ll be highly unlikely to interest me, regardless of how good the gfx are.
This could be an upgrade on the PC

Slightly let down by that actually… The graphics look phenomenal, but it isn’t really in game footage yet. I’m also not exactly keen on the massive amount of tie fighters, x wings, and millennium falcon shots towards the end, because I don’t know if that’s just some kind of cut scene, some specialist map like Battle of Britain or coral sea in bf42, or the actual number of fly boys the game will allow to farm the ground at once….the unrealistic flight physics also really stand out for some reason, probably because it’s not in space.
I think I read something recently regarding the game being first person, but I’m still waiting for something which confirms that and shows exactly how it’ll look or feel.
if its anything like jedi knight 2 with the map size and graphics quality and of ps2 ill buy it. switching to third person when using lightsaber and the possibility to initiate duels on the battlefield would be icing.
also a `capture the solo` gametype and a big sarlacc pit the size of j908 crater with a flag on a bridge over it would be cool.
It would need to have bf3 and ps2 style gunplay I think vs what was in jk2 (which was more classic quake style and a little outdated now) but you do need 3rd person for lightsabers and jk2 had a good mix of lightsaber and gun play. The 3rd person thing brings with it some problems though, as if anyone remembers playing bunker in rogue spear, you’d spend a lot of time in 3p looking over obstacles and around corners. If that’s in the game, it’s in the game and I don’t think it’s game breaking but what would be annoying is if it is a 3rd person shooter, rather than first person. That is why I never even considered playing the original battlefront games, and my biggest concern over this one..
If they match the scale of ps2 though with map size and player numbers then I’ll be impressed, but ATM I’m expecting bf sized arenas.

Since I was on level caps channel today. Nothing too new, but there are a few new angles for some of previous footage released (that I’ve seen), and it doesn’t look as bad in places.
Also clarifies some of the stuff re first and third person views (basically both are in it).
