I can’t remember what it was called, and it’s packed in some suitcase somewhere since moving home from Liverpool so doubt I’ll find it anytime soon. It wasn’t by anyone famous though, just a guy explaining how he makes a moderate profit from the game, but it covers a lot of the basics fairly well.
AK’s a funny hand isn’t it, I heard a stat recently that it was most common hand that people went out on during the world series of poker, and I think there’s a lesson there.
Poker books are underrated I think, I used to wonder what the point was until one day I read one before going to the casino (for first time) that night. I came 2nd out of 40 people winning over 200 quid (tenner buy in but first 3 hours you could rebuy which was a pain), so was definately worth the read 🙂
That guys a knob, but come on I can’t be the only one here who’s ever felt like breaking into cars, and pulling people out of cars after a gta session? It was one of the funniest things for us back with GTA 3 at uni 😆 Ok we were stoned, and it was often the middle of the night when the session ended and we’d be walking home, but the feeling was definately there. Never actually did it though, as it would’ve been stupid, but I guess that guy’s point is there are a lot of stupid people out there. He’s picked the wrong culprit for the problem though, and the stuff in that letter just shows him up as a cock.
Oh how much I’d love to see him go downtown LA or New York (or wherever these shootings take place), and take the same kind of tone with the boys there that he takes in his letter to a computer geeks mother 😆

Well anyone who is interested, be on steam tomorrow from about 7-30 (trying to get a game underway at 8, and because some people have commitments it needs to start on time). Need to gauge the interest first of all, but even if there are just a few of us we may be able to have a friendly against Crazy clan. I know we’ll be completely disorganised and should expect to lose if we’re playing them, but it’s a starting point, and afterwards we can start working on how/if we progress.
I’m getting errors periodically as well, the entire domain becomes inaccessable (as in anything on xdcuk.com), and it’s been happening for quite a while. While I was redoing the site I noticed this would happen at specific time, 6-7, 9-10, and midnight in particular. I put it down to my shitty isp, but maybe it’s something more.
heh some people have too much time on their hands 😆 Still it’s good to see them working on the weakest classes first 😉 … even if I am dying to see what they’ll buff the soldiers up with 🙂
I am starting to think differently about pyro’s though, mainly because of the medics these days supporting them’s a lot more often. You just have to adjust your play a little to deal with it, but still they can be tricky in some positions. And maybe that’s it, I play solider almost exclusively and that’s a class you can use effectively in almost any position, but when pyro’s played right I guess position on the map becomes more important. Those tunnels in goldrush, for example, seem made for pyromaniac madness, especially with a medic ubering/critzing them 😆
Portal’s the wee added extra that came in the orange box along with TF2 and HL2 – episode 2. Surprise package of century from a gaming point of view.
The League Admin contacted me again this evening asking if we were going to join. I told him we’d know after Thursday, but the good thing is that this means there are still places available 🙂
I know you all like your PC’s but wouldnt it be cheaper to get an xbox with the game instead of the game with a new high specced PC, I reckon you’ll need a shit hot one to run this and make it look as sexy as it does on console, that and lag .. just a thought as xbox came down in price recently 🙂
I wouldn’t upgrade a pc for a game anymore than I’d buy a console for one, but the only reason I’m waiting for pc version is that I prefer the keyboard and mouse setup.
Game sounds brilliant though.
