Been a while since I’ve done it as well, but when you’re coming outside is it the first time you see the wee crabs running about by themselves? I remember a valve before then which raises the water level or something, and then a bit of a mad fight. It might be possible to carry on from there, as the crabs and zombies are pretty easy to avoid and there is health about there somewhere outside, but might also be easier just to load an earlier save point and duck a bit more 🙂
Have you tried reinstalling windows?
If you have, and I know it’s drastic, but is there a way to put all your shit onto a portable drive/dvd, then reformat?

It’s a shame most of these games are just money spinners, because this might have a lot of potential if it was made right.

A lot of us here have the pc version of COD4 and I’d say most would prefer it on the pc over any console version, simply because keyboard and mouse is a much better way to control first person shooters. That would probably be the main difference between the PS3 and PC versions, though I’m sure someone can add to that if they have it.
As for lag, if you can run the game on single player without any framerate problems then it’ll run fine online. Most of the time the only thing that’ll affect lag is your connection to the server, so if you’re in the UK and on broadband you should get a good connection to any european server. We’ve got our own COD4 server up at the moment though, and we’re experiencing some lag problems on it, so sometimes the lag can be related to the server itself.
The only time you’ll ever have a problem finding a game is during the antisocial hours of whatever timezone you live in. Even then you’ll be able to find a game across the atlantic, but you’ll experience a lot more lag because of the distance.

Can’t believe I didn’t think of that either 😳 Mine’s probably changed since resetting my router.
Is the first one the IP I gave you because although it looks like the servers/bams I’ve been going through, it doesn’t match my current IP?? If my connection wasn’t responding to WAN ping, it’s because I only saw the post at 3 or 4 this afternoon past, but I enabled it right away.
Oh and as for his traceroute, can you please ask him who the fuck his host is? It may have been there just for reference, but still I can only dream of that kind of connection 😯
ctf-well is a shit remake of the original (it does have that quake feel about though), ctf_well2 is a better polished remake, ctf_well_classic_b1 is the closest to an exact remake of it (but it’s not on our server).
I actually still haven’t had a proper game of it, so may jump on next time I see you…..though I’ll be really shit.

While we’re at it, keyboard & mouse is why GTA works….for me at least.
