The only opinion I can really offer is that it seems to me from friends and online people talking about these things, that the ps4 is generally the better choice. Last gen everyone went Xbox, this time I think people are swinging back to PlayStation….. Or so it seems from the position of not giving a fuck.
OK I had BF1942 in my games library on Origin and, even though it was uninstalled, it’s allowed me to reinstall it there. If you don’t have that option, and don’t have the CD, there are versions out there which can be used. Also because there’s no gamespy or origin master server, I believe you can play without a valid cd key so long as you have entered something when installing it. As I’ve got a proper origin version though I’ve not been able to test alternatives, however I do also have two bf1942 cd’s and keys if necessary.
Actually that’s a good point, have origin removed it from their free to play or download list? I left it patching earlier so haven’t checked. I do know we can still get on servers but didn’t check this part.
We did and I think we will again some Sunday afternoon when we’re bored. The game on Friday though was fun for a while but soon we realised that about half of us had fucked up something pretty major early on and it was going to screw over the entire game, so we left it for that night and jumped on PS2, where we kicked some ass.
Oh sorry CH, didn’t check forums yesterday, literally got up hungover logged into PS, logged out went to bed.
At least you got sorted though but at that time yesterday we really got screwed over by the server pop and an alert or two. It took until and hour after you left before the population dispersed onto amerish and we started finding some fights more to our liking.
I think we need to split our squad up though if we have players new to the game or faction because it’s impossible for me keeping track of everyone who doesn’t have a clue what’s going on once we get into a big fight and with everyone else talking on TS. I’ll do this next time you, line, jar, and anyone else is about and leave the others together, just so we can make sure the basics are covered.
Because I was using shadow play I assumed it might do all that automatically, however I can’t find the option to change options at that level. Do you know where they live?

Also Occa that sounds like you enjoyed it and I noticed earlier that you weren’t having too much trouble following me around which is also a good sign because once you have a few guys working that way you can really see effects in your score and it’s mostly what keep the rest of us playing the game. The squad play is just phenomenal in this game and I expect what we do here to transfer very handily into the next major bf game. I’m glad the gfx are looking better for you now because recently there has been some really poor performance for some ppl so that suggests they’re getting a handle on it. The game still doesn’t have the same level of gfx as bf3 but while they do plan a major upgrade in the not to distant future (not holding my breath though) , it’s really the squad and gameplay elements which keep us hooked.
You can also tweak the music settings via the volume in game. Turn it off if you’re pro, or at least turn it down if you’re like me and like a bit of atmosphere when close to completing an objective. The vs music isn’t as good as nc though, so I really should turn that off.
1600 x1028 (ish) can never remember, whatever the Max is for my monitor. I just remember Ben mention something before about me not being able to render in YouTube HD because of it and wonder whether me trying to results in the bars. I’ll find one of my old MSI afterburner videos and see if it happens in that, but for me it’s really minor.
Music wise that sounds similar to my taste but trying to find something to fit a video which is newish and not already overused is difficult. Screechy crap annoys me but that song doesn’t have too much of it for me, and the good parts overrule the bad.
Oh and I only for tickled that guy, and he walked in front of me while I was firing so in a way I was helping him learn, while doing incredibly well not to kill him. Spend half my time shooting past heads of morons trying to steal kills after spending half the fight cowering outside while you are the one doing the hard work at the front.
