I don’t want to set a date for this just yet, but would like to check availability before organising anything. Who would be up for this, remembering that the game is currently freely available on Origin?
Actually that’s a good point, have origin removed it from their free to play or download list? I left it patching earlier so haven’t checked. I do know we can still get on servers but didn’t check this part.
there is a homemade launcher for it , ill get the link when im at home. worth playing on a ctf server cos the game is bloody hard when your rusty . god knows what it`ll be like for someone whos never played it. maybe have a couple of hours on it for nostalgia then fuck off to ps2.
although the maps in ps2 are the best ive ever seen nothing comes close to the feel of 42 maps. they make you feel small and vulnerable but able to make a difference. weird.
OK I had BF1942 in my games library on Origin and, even though it was uninstalled, it’s allowed me to reinstall it there. If you don’t have that option, and don’t have the CD, there are versions out there which can be used. Also because there’s no gamespy or origin master server, I believe you can play without a valid cd key so long as you have entered something when installing it. As I’ve got a proper origin version though I’ve not been able to test alternatives, however I do also have two bf1942 cd’s and keys if necessary.
