AH = Auction house. There will be real money AH’s soon. Only heard good things about the game but most people have issues with actually being able to play it when they want too. It seems odd that you can’t play it single player without going online, but that’s the DRM they chose!
Ahh that is something I should’ve guessed but I am purposefully allowing all information in one ear and out the other regarding this game as it sounds too addictive.

KeymasterIt means there is a lot of stuff to this game that you really don’t want to know, turks.

KeymasterHaving read what youget through this it seems a bit more than the vanity type product I initially assumed it would be. The money off the expansions is worth it alone and it seems you get queue priority on servers, which is controversial, but the rest seems ok given I would be getting the other packs regardless.

KeymasterThat’s a drop in the ocean when we’re talking about max.

KeymasterI have concerns for the future though. The game is built around the AH. At the moment, to get good gear, you grind and get gold, buy shit of the AH. That’s all well and good, but when the real money AH comes, people will want to sell their awesome weapons for real money, meaning if you want, them, you will need to kill the boss maybe 300 times (as the loot is so stupid that way) or pay actual money for it. It will be interesting (or depressing) to see what happens.
You lost me there as well with the AH chat. Before that part it was sounding a pretty shit investment, and I’m sure that wasn’t your intention giving how much you were wanking over this.
Now would also be the perfect time to call you a GEEEEEEK!!

KeymasterThis is a free weekend for Civ5 if anyone fancies trying it, plus it’s on offer on steam for £4.99. They’ve made some good changes since release with a recent patch making the game much more playable that I found it initially. Certainly my most recent game of it last month felt much more like the classic Civ experience which was initially missing from the game.

Keymasterit was 7 hours if you read the article
I’ve been so confused by how you’re acting in this thread paddy that I’ve been forced into reading the article, and it was 12 hours & 29 minutes for the initial guy and 7 hours for a group of Koreans and another group of Chinese.

KeymasterJust realised it’s quite difficult to follow that link from here, so copy and paste this into battlelog next time you’re on and give me some votes 🙂

Keymasterportal im not sure is a great example as its as you said, more of a problem and logic type game rather than a exploring/story game. maybe its how i view games thats different in that i see most of them as a story.
You’re not the only one who thinks that way. Some games are built for challenges, others for longevity through exploration. Both have their place, however diablo is not one I wish to explore personally.

KeymasterBeats my record hands down 😆
For the record though, the guy we were playing were awful, as you should never do what that guy was doing. Hilarious though 🙂

KeymasterNa it’s not COD mate. I can understand where you coming from in some ways but COD still hasn’t got vehicles, and still doesn’t give you much of a motive to play as a team, whereas BF3 actually does recapture the feel of conquest from BF42 and BF2. The presentation is a bit more like COD these days, but even there BF3’s done a much better job, and I honestly think it’s a good enough title to sit up there as a true BF sequel. My complaint is more that with people playing on these huge ticket servers they’re effectively turning the game into COD by taking away the teamplay element, and it annoys me. It’s a tendency online for people to do this and I remember the same happening with TF2 servers, although in a slightly different way. Luckily not everyone does this, but it was particularly frustrating last week trying to find a decent vanilla setup to play on.

KeymasterYea it’s good news indeed, though sorry we neglected to post about it having been talking about it over the last week on TS. If anyone wants to see what the fuss is all about, and why COH is considered the best RTS of all time, pick up the June edition of PC Gamer and get a free copy of COH. As it happens there are a lot of us playing this regularly on TS atm and can show you the ropes etc.
One other thing is that I signed up for the forums at http://www.companyofheroes.com/ following this announcement and there was a beta test licence agreement to accept before completing sign up. Obviously way too early for a beta, but sign up and just maybe you’ll get an email the day it’s released 🙂

KeymasterI always question the value in this kind of thing when you can hear the stereo effects from their demonstration video with your current setup. My understanding has always been that sound effects depend on your sfx card, however I’ve lost confidence in this assumption recently as my current headset is USB, and I don’t think I have an “offboard” sound card even plugged in. I can understand how sound quality might improve with better speakers, but is the difference game changing, or worth £65?
