Damn, why didn’t I preload the game before tonight 🙁 Are you seriously in the game already Beer? Guess I’ll get that server tonight as well then.
I just happened to notice while flicking channels tonight that this was on the gadget show tonight on channel 5. It’s a pretty impressive setup they had, though I don’t think you’d be spending too long playing each night 🙂 The show will likely be available via their on demand service on their own site or possibly youtube in the next day or two.

That would be my feeling on it, though to be fair I don’t really know much about them. They seem a bit gimmicky but it might actually be pretty cool to see it demonstrated sometime. Come to think of it, that’s probably what I’d need before spending any money on one, to see a demonstration.
According to the email I’ve just received advising I can now preload the limited edition (the pre ordered version which included early beta access), I can start playing the game on the 27th.
No, they allowed people who had preordered to play the beta 2 days before it was opened to the public. Hope it’s not true about waiting for the 28th.

Imagine how fit you’d need to be though if they did eventually get something like this working properly, especially if they released El Alamein 🙂 Sprint 2km to flag only to die by sniper/ex-packed flag area/tiger tank/plane….respawn, sprint another 2km to flag, only to die in the desert somewhere along the way gasping for water and air….Might make spawn camping feel merciful.

This is on the todo list for this week. At the moment I’m just home in Belfast with limited time to spend online, but I intend on having this sorted within the next few days, as I’ll be back in Edinburgh tomorrow and off work until after the weekend.
When I made this post I was on verge of just renting a server but I couldn’t decide how on how long a lease. This thread hasn’t really helped much with that decision, so what I’ll do is check what’s in the bank when I’m back tomorrow afternoon, and work out what’s initially affordable from that.
I’m already decided on using Rackage as our provider, as they’ve been the most reliable for us, and the service Gonzo provides us is second to none.
I need to work out how to best manage donations for this as well, which is why I’ll pick up the initial bill, but will then take donations towards it’s running and keep any surplus until the initial lease is up. I’ve a few ideas how to manage the donations but I’ll have to work out the best way when I’m back in Edinburgh with all my banking details to hand.
Jesus christ mike how many posts do you want to dig up? Doc’s pc’s probably obsolete by now.
Incidently, like minecraft and eve, building your own pc gets you a lot of women. Not sure if you’re that way inclined 😉
😆 class, and likewise I’ve always preferred this but not really played much of the recent fifa incarnations.
